Sandpit Junior Track - Amusing kids in the school hols

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me what the Sandpit Junior Track is like compared to the PeeWee & Learner Tracks? I've got Mr 6 who's going to get bored on the PeeWee & Learner and Mr 4 who's not up to much more than those 2 (he has an aversion to trees in close proximity).

Compounding the ability gap and attention-span problem is that Mr 6 is on a CRF50 and is not a big fan of deep sand - with that little power and 12" wheels I can't blame him. Is the Jr track suitable, or would a 65/85 stroker be needed (and another 4 years)? He's happy with small-ish jumps & stuff, but not sure if the CRF50 will go fast up a sandy hill! Santa was asked for a CRF70; will that make a lot of difference?

Gonna try to get both kids out together in the school hols, but Mr 4 on the LT50 is happiest on wide-open tracks, where the sand is soft & deep - just where nobody else wants to do LT50-speed...

Unsure what the junior track is like but i'm keen to know for my boy. He is currently on a JR50 but in April/May is going to a KTM Mini SX

Take them down to the kids track at thunder X mate. Drive through the carpark at the bottom of the hill and on up to the top paddock. Set your gazebo up, bring lunch and let them go for it. Great little kids loop and a small hill bit if they get board with the loop. Its a great day out with the family where they can just ride and not worry to much about getting stuck in sand. There's also a gentle B loop but they are prob a bit young for that. Just don't take them out on the main trails like that poor bloke that lost is little one. Its not a dangerous place as long as you take them on the trails they can handle. The learners area up top is perfect for this.

It is awesome leaners/kids for the kids & also dear i say it, for me when i was a total noobi. I didn't have the confidence to do even the B loop so i happily went around that paddock all day.

I'm glad someone else said that... Thunder X has a great kids area. Nice big grass padocks. That's where I was taken the second day of owning my bike while my mates did the trail.

Really nice atmosphere up there even though the kids were riding rings around me!
