    under a hundy bucks for 3.5" screen with color camera, or more if you need more res or bigger screen..... whats the project?

    I shouldn't say, but I'll post an interesting video if I finish it... So those screens run on their own power, and you could possibly run a cord from a regular cam to this monitor without too many complications? I don't suppose they are on the net, link anywhere?

    Nah. Those "wires" are normally tiny flexible printed circuit thingys, and are impossibly fragile and infeasible to solder.
