Fuggin Yum, again a bit too painfully sporty for these old bones but it sure is a looker. Bronze wheels? hmmm.

My old boy is 60 and he has a brand new GSXR1000, It replaced his GSXR1000 that was about 2 years old.

Went for a ride with him yesterday through his hand picked back-roads, He gave me the learn in a big way, and man, when he gave her death he just fucked off over the horizon while the bike howled like a banshee.

I was pretty damn impressed.

Should I mention that I sat on his bike the other day and hurt my back?....just sitting on the damn thing.

Well, My back is a piece of shit that has given me grief for years, However I do appreciate a good seat, and the GSXR line does not have a good seat by any definition that I know of....

I can't imagine that a couple of inches of Gel seat would hamper the bikes performance?, Still I suppose when it comes to performance bikes you don't make compromise for comfort.

I managed 60km of gravel on the Tuono. I was almost comfortable with it by the end. Piece of piss on the Buell or Ducati

The seat's as hard as hell, the 'bars and rear sets 'buzz' which make your hands and feet go numb, your neck and shoulders get sore if you are tense and don't relax, your wrists ache from the pressure exerted on them (unless you up the pace to relieve the pressure on your wrists) and it's hard to walk upright after being hunched over for an extended period of time...

But like I said, it's what you become accustomed to!!!

The only bike away from a Moto-Guzzi that has me drooling and make me consider it as a viable next bike..

Seriously though, that Fazer is a noice looking machine.

Still, I've ridden a few bikes now and I can't seem to get away from the GSX1400 as the best all rounder. Most the 1000CC bikes, if not all are pulling the same maximum torque figure at peak as mine is at 2500rpm and peak torque on the GSX1400 is 5500RPM and on the road, Torque is where it counts

There's not many bikes beat the 1400 on maximum torque at the same revs and the bike is ideal for the road and just does everything so well. It;s quite a nimble package in the tight stuff once set up right.

I've been potentially buying bikes every waking hour of the day. Trouble is, my current bike basically does everything I need and the maintenance is slow low, that I can't logically try get another one with more 'fun factor'.

Edit: My 'perfect' bike right now would be a CB1000R with some givi luggage and heated grips. Oh lordy how I'd fall in love with that bike everyday.

I would love to go back to a Triumph but, I tend to buy what suits my needs at the time, not my wants.

FZ-1..would suit my needs
Guzzi Breva...would suit my needs.
Speed Triple...would suit my wants.

Good point, I often forget them wobbly roads being a pom an all. An all rounder has a slightly different flavour down here don't it.

Ok I revise my statement/question. Is the new FZ1 the ideal all rounder except for the wobbly roads, in pommy speak, does it not look tasty and ideal for scratchin touring and commuting?

The very fact that I've owned and loved the 14 makes it incredibly hard to find something that could persuade me away from it but that yammy sure looks like a contender to me.
