Great idea Rick! How about a 2-race approach on the day, with 30 minutes each race, like they do in Motocross GPs? You have individual race winners and an overall GP winner each day from the aggregated results. The winner of the Tri-Series is the NZ Bucket Champion? My objective would be to qualify and not come last!

I asked Carl a couple times about his arm. He was in good spirits, blamed himself, not the tricky drizzly conditions that made me slow to a crawl, and was smiling as always! He's a tough bugger.

How is Andrea who was on the other CBR? Last I heard she was in hospital.
Much thanks to Kyle, Malcolm, Steven from the racing academy and the other supporters for the help with tyres and track knowledge. It was great to see everyone helping everyone as required. My wife, despite herself had a good time (not falling off help though). Amy reckons it was cool and Veetia thinks it was the coolest trip ever. Talking to a few people has given me the impression they were impressed with positive and friendly attitude, well presented bikes, clean racing and the amount of bikes out there on the track to the point they made sure to watch the bucket races. The only complaint I got was they had trouble keeping track of what individual bikes were doing due to the intensity of the racing.
The racing was fantastic. I am more than happy how well my new bucket went although my starts left alot to be desired. Watch out Damien, Stephen and Malcolm as I'm looking forward to handing your arses back to you on a platter.
I hope to see big teams from the South Island, Hawkes Bay and Auckland at the Easter event.
Yes 4 strokes are for homos. Homo-sapiens that is, who have realized bigger is better.

Spoke to Carl last night he was still nil by mouth all day but no op. Hopefully to day. I did have a couple of new years drinks for him though and then a few for myself.

Real race classes but not real GP titles, as per mnz website GP & TT titles are awarded only to the following classes.But they are not real race classes though
ROAD RACING / ENDURANCE
The Championship classes will be:
125cc up to 125cc 2 stroke & up to 125cc 4 stroke
250GP 126cc 250cc 2 Cylinder 2 stroke
This class is for machines that are ineligible for F111. It is to be run simultaneously with F111,
however it is a completely separate championship class. (The future of this class is entirely
dependent upon the level of support this season).
FORMULA 3 As per Appendix B
SIDECARS 240 - 1300cc 2 stroke & 240 - 1300cc 4 stroke
SPORTS PRODUCTION As per Appendix A
PRODUCTION SUPERBIKE As per Appendix A
650cc Pro Twin 20 years & over 20 years the 20 yr old rider will remain in the 20yr age group
until the end of the National Championship for that year.
TOURIST TROPHY & GRAND PRIX TITLES

Period 72 Lightweight: Junior (241cc to 500cc);
Senior (501cc to 1300cc).
Period 82 Lightweight; Junior 241cc to 600cc);
Senior (601cc to 1300cc
GP & TT titles have a long history, sadly recently they have lost some lustre just becoming another race in the championship, personally i'd like to see them carry double points so as to differentiate them from normal title races.

I have made a run for it today and have broken out the door, well at least for the afternoon anyway. Surgry was cancelled again today so I have escaped to the pearants place cause I needed sime decent food and I was going stir crazy stearing at those walls.
Arm is still well and truly rooted (ironicly called a smith fracture) and it surposably aint a fix that any old surgen seems to be able to do (well that is the BS I keep getting feed anyway).
Anyway I guess they will starve me again tomorrow and see if I can get into surgry and get this dam thing fixed.
Apart from that I was starting to enjoy the Taupo circuit. The bike seemed to be down on horsepower compared to other FXRs so might have to look into that (looks like I will have a bit of time on my hands). Hey ther is alway next time

That list isn't correct though as the 50cc GP was resurrected and run in 2007 at the BOB, if TRRS applied to run the F4/F5 GP and MNZ granted it then it is a "real GP" title

I couldn't pass you up the hill like I could other fxr's so I think that you arn't going to bad (there where some fast ridden fxr's infrount of you there)

Hope they get your arm fixed soon so you can get back on the bike.
That was my first visit to the Taupo circuit and I was very impressed. It was great to ride. We need bucket classes on all the big tracks. They are safer and there is more room for the fast riders to get past (people like me) without getting too close. We can also fill the grids - other classes can't.
