Poor bike ..
Poor bike ..
This is an attitude I struggle to understand... why should the cops be blamed for anyones death in the event that an idiot chooses to run from them rather than obey the law and pull over. If a "person" chooses to evade capture by the Police by driving / riding at ridiculous speeds through public roads and in doing so kills or maims him or herself and / or other innocent people... WHY does that become the responsibility of the Police.
We "the public" expect them to do a job but everytime one of these miscreants cause mayhem while evading those that we expect to do that job... we jump up and down and point the finger at them. What sort of f*cked up society are we creating here?

I have been sarcastic all along except for saying that the PCA will find no fault with the police, they rarely do. 3% of all compalints are upheld as at last count.
FFS, does nobody understand humour any more? (Albeit dark humour.) Sympathy to loved ones etc, but jeez, get over yourselves.
Humour on your part or not... it IS an attitude that many people have and I get sick of hearing about cops being put over a barrel for trying to do their job. Its not a job I would want, personally Im pleased that there are still enough people in the country who do want to do it, what with all the shit they get from both sides of the fence (crims and law abiding folk)

It was a hornet 900 and was written of before this accident as I saw the new owner (not sure it was this guy)loading it on to a trailer at wellington m/c's so maybe it wasn't regged or woffed and been revinned hence the runner only guessing though.
We live in an increasingly blameless society. The real criminals get away with their crimes, blaming their actions on "a bad childhood" while people who commit minor traffic offences such as exceeding the posted speed limit get treated like the true criminals. Guilty until proven innocent for minor offences, and innocent until proven guilty for serious criminal offences. Makes sense doesn't it? (insert Tui ad here)
Nope..... serious offences are usually preceeded by an arrest. Minor (traffic) offences are preceeded by an invite to contribute to the Govt MP travel perk fund. Both being alleged offences and both have a right of defence in Court. The bad childhood only comes in at sentencing when the waaaaaaaaaambulance lawyer gives the bleeding heart sob story.
As for the Newlands runner.... going out in an old rubbish tip landfill? Bummer. Lucky for all the people and kids around Jville and Newlands that he didnt take out anyone else with him.
A friend was listening via a Scanner while this chase was going on.....Apparently the Police car was right behind this rider and shunted him off the road to his DEATH !!!!!!!!!!!!
Crazy Steve.
Thats what happens when you speed, YOU DIE.
