A couple times in my life I've sold my beloved bike to do something else for awhile, each time it was a massive fuck up.
Don't do it, Get up,get out, Ride.
Or put it in the shed, let her rest until you can ride her again, when you come back the magic will still be there, If you sell it, shes gone for good and the magic goes with her.
I don't know what your reasons are for not wishing to ride, But I was unable to get out much for a few years as we had young kids, I didn't rack up many miles but fuck me, Best thing I did was keep the bike close during those times.

Obviously I'm totally considering this. The problem is that the numbers are even more ugly - another year's depreciation, another year's tax etc. Mind you, if it goes for $10k now or $10k in a year then there seems little point in flogging the thing. Fuck! Fuuuuccckk!

I can't say why, But a year ago I was offered $14600 for my Harley, 6 months ago I was offered a trade of $13000 grand and $11000, when I sold her a month ago no one would trade it at all (though I was offered a very good alternative option) and I ended up getting just $10600 as a private sale, after months of no interest no matter what price I listed her as.
Come to think of it, for about the same money I could have just kept my Harley and bought a near new Speed Triple.
