and then there's the over take.

I mean, there's foregiveness for riding like a twat (we forgive D every week) but then there's consistantly making bad decisions, which in my opinion needs greater consideration when deciding whether this is a person I'd want to ride with.

I'd also like to point out that my information is second hand, I wasn't on the scene a year ago, but my second hand information comes from many many reliable sources.
You my friend have a short memory.
Do you remember our first ride together?
I have never, ever, been so scared, for someone else's life, in my whole 49 years on this earth.(twice)
I never thought I would ever ride with you again.

Maybe he has, maybe he hasn't, learnt his lesson's.
At this point I think he is worth giving a second chance to.

But I'm old enough now, to pick who I want to ride with.

As far as no WOF or rego, that's his business if he get caught.
I ride with more than a few, and now a few more that will not have current WOF and rego because of the increase in rego.
Feel the fear and do it anyway

Well if he wants a chance then he can first off apologise to those people that he nearly took out and then had the audasity to blame.

He can also apologise to Phoenix as he spent many a night worring whether the rides were worth it and whether to continue with it at all. He nearly ended this ride so he can man up and say sorry at least.

Rik- Of course you should ride with who you want on a ride, dont blame us for making the same decision not to ride with someone who we consider a dangerous rider.

I don't blame you at all and have not told you guys who you should ride with.
But I seem to have more than a few, trying to tell me who I can ride with.

Not sure folks are telling you who you can ride with, what I am seeing is folks saying they are unwilling to ride with this person, as has been posted perhaps if this person had manned up, and apologised for comments relayed on this forum attempting to lay blame for his mishap on others with misstatements relayed via friends ie http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...10#post1838810, then it would go a long way to folks perception of the guy.

What annoys folks (and this is my read of the situation) is that he turned to a WNR on a bike that was not roadworthy, ie no front brakes, attempted a stupid passing manoeuvre, then did not at any point front up and simply say I messed up but told others it was the fault of HOT and TIMG.

Geordie if you are reading this you have had time to apologise to those you blamed personally via PM and make a public statement here, there is still a chance you can do this but its up to you.
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.

short indeed, but a fair point.

as for the rego-wof it's his fault if he gets caught yes, rego im not too phased on but riding without front brakes in that manner is getting a bit silly right?

So what's going? Wouldn't mind to do Oxford, but it's probably not for the "my bike craves twisties" sporty types, and I don't know the watering holes out that way are like ...
He who shall go stately at the back and not stress out.
So Gareth what was it you said about MaxF's "Funky ass curves"? - God, now I'm worried...

Yes no brakes is very silly and I had not heard that part before.

And I'm sick of this dragging up the past.
Like I said he rode well with us and I know he rides with former WNR-er's.
So maybe he should ride with them and us more and hopefully pick up some better habit's.

This is my last post on things that happened years ago.
I have had a PM from one that was involved in the crash and made the comment that they have moved on.
Maybe it is time we all did.

We did it once last season. The Oxford pub is ok. Yes it's a straight boring ride, but it turns out I'm not going to make it this week sogo for it if you want and I won't have to!!

Work usually precludes me from the WNR but I have a week off and the wee fella is keen for a ride. Hes been on the bike with me plenty before but not too keen on twisties. Oxford would get my vote.

Oxford isn't that bad if you take the long way around, for a change of scenery from the peninsula.

I might be along for a ride if the weather is OK but probably solo this week.

So when are we having the official wednesday night cruise scooter night then?
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987

Oxford via Rangiora and lowburn sounds like a nice run. Open and easy riding, mostly flat(ish), Easy regroup points but will need to stop at the lowburn/ashley gorge turnoff so noone misses it.
Longer than normal i guess but everyone should be able to cope with the ride and if anyone wants to practice a little night riding some of us could head back the way we came after dark rather than just heading down the main road.

Where will we stop for food, Oxford or Cust?

I could be in for this as I'm still got a bit of lumpy fuel in the new girl.

She cleaned up real well, pity I rode her in the rain.
