Rear sprocket supplier?
I need some advice, I have a 2008 CBF250 F Honda . It is a NZ new machine, I bought it with 5000ks, now upto 12,00 and I 've just replaced the tyres. As the original chain was showing the end of its adjustment, I decided to replace it with a good quality chain and throw on a new set of sprockets.
Unfortunately Honda dont stock a replacement rear sprocket ( 37teeth), One from Japan $180, the aftermarket suppliers for NZ dont stock anything under 40 teeth according to the local Honda dealer. They can get one in from the states in about 6 weeks for the same price as a genuine Honda sprocket. Replacing the front 13 tooth is no problem.
The original sprocket still looks good so I may just stick on a basic chain and run with that.
The bike only puts out 22hp and I dont thrash it at all. I'm pissed off that an item such as sprockets which wear out regularly cant be scourced for a 2 yr NZ new bike.
Does anyone know if the dealer is correct in saying after market sprockets of 37 teeth are not avalible?
