One could say that you are martyring yourself for a lifestyle. If you can't earn a minimum wage for yourself after 25 yrs of self employment, I'd say you are doing something seriously wrong and should get a job where you can earn a living wage! Which, in NZ,seems to be harder and harder to do! Not bitch about it because others could get more!

Under the last Labour government the minimum wage increased by 70% over nine years, yet unemploment halved in that time. If people are worried about the minimum wage being too close to the average wage, maybe they should do something about raising the average wage instead of acting like survivors trying to cling to a rope and kicking off those below them who are trying to hold on, rather than climbing up the rope.....
