Most of the "academics" in the Liarbour and Green parties fall into that classification, don't they?

If he's an honest bloke with just a touch of idealism left in him then he'll be a better MP than any highly educate, albeit corrupt and power hungry, politician. So what if he's worked in a fish & chips shop. If the greens decide they'll have him, they'll have based that decision on something - and unless you vote green to begin with your opinion on the matter is irrelevant.

Well, not having an impact isn't always a bad thing. Or would you prefer another Dr. Smith?
Transport is valid area to focus upon in NZ, public transportation does leave a lot to be desired.
Isn't that at the end of the day what democracy is? By casting a vote you are casting your judgment upon those that you don't vote for.

Look at it another way. If Ronald there rocked up to your place of business with that CV, would you give him a job? I sure as hell wouldn't

You got it all backwards. Your vote represents a vote of confidence in the candidate of your choosing. Confidence that the candidate will competently represent and further your personal areas of interest.
The vote does not signify a lack of confidence in all other candidates.

I haven't seen his CV. If he was the best man for the job in question I couldn't care less if he had a fetish for dressing up like Ronald McDonald or whatever other irrelevant factoids that could be uncovered.
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

Another example of knowing nothing about that which you flip off negative remarks at!

Maybe he's just smarter than the others. Get in, get out, continue getting half price air fares for the rest of your life Are there any other ongoing perks once you're out?

You buggers should get me in as a green MP.
The basis of my campaign is:
2,4,5-T will be re-introduced... in fact it will be compulsory!

    You're welcome!

Do you think National were voted in because of confidence in their candidates and their policies, or because people were sick of Labour ?

NZ generally votes Govt's out, not in.

Hopefully this is the kind of shit that will get the greens under the 5% mark!
