Jokes aside, I wonder what it would cost to fly them up with us... as bad as one imagines? I mean, Air NZ help all those teams for faggy sports like rugby get around the country...

Good point, nothing to loose by asking. Or we could freight them up to Winnie on a pellet a week prior to us flying up.

Guys - I work for a freight company - I could see what I could work out for you. Could freight them to PMR - and you could collect from there.....

Will need to PURGE fuel etc....but once on a pallet , fairly straight forward.

Let me know what you think.

    Oh really?
Defiantly keen to know what it'll cost.
If we could get a decent deal on freight, we'd probably be looking at taking 3 w/c and 3 a/c bikes (one each for the 3 of us). I wonder if we could squeeze 6 bikes onto one standard pellet. 3 wide, 2 high. Might be 2 pellets, will need tools, probably pack the helmets and leathers in there too. Just thinking out loud here.
Purging fuel and coolant isn't a problem.
PM me some details if you can swing something for us Ray. Cheers dude.

Hey - just comes down to a m3/kg rate essentially. You build a crate (so you can re-use it , and keep the dims to 1 x 1 x 1 and the cost would be fairly reasonable.

You could then just work out where the best place to collect it from would be - will PM you with more info.

Yip, I'm more than capable of building a custom create or two.
It'd be sick to come race you guys on a proper track for a whole weekend.

If you are freighting to the Edgecumbe area (to race here), I can probably find a drop off point and some temporary storage.

With the cost of 3 air fares and freight for the bikes and maybe accomidation, it might be cheaper to rent a camper and fill it up with a couple more mates. Get packing, see you sunday.

    Mwahahaha Sunday. lol ummmm yeah

With a camper there is also fuel costs, ferry, and I'm pretty sure the camper company wont too appreciate 2 stroke and petrol fumes throughout their vehicle. Not totally out of the question though.
You can see where this conversation is going though cant you? Well I can because we've discussed it more than thrice.
We really need to buy a van, then we could make multiple trips over the season.
Still worth looking into freighting a couple of pellets and flying up. Not as expensive as one might initially think.

Yeah, sure, we could get 6 Chinese bikes going all at one time

That would definitely be worth looking at All our D2s are standard on slimey tyres, so wouldn't make a difference to us

We've talked about it, but I had to be the voice of reason and suggest that perhaps the camper company won't be happy about leaky Chinese crappers stinking out their campers :/

    That would be the ideal

I've never seen a camper with a towbar (trailer-load of bikes?), and it would be four days drive up and back from ch-ch - don't know how enjoyable that would be. Likely you had a complete guts full by the time you got back.

This time of year it would make a good 3-4 days away. We usually open up at midday on saturday, but if folks are keen we can open earlier. This gives you a hardcore-solid two days of track time.

Thornton beach motor camp is ten mins down the road (bring fishing rods!) or quite likely you will meet up with a like-minded group and hit the hot pools saturday night or whatever spanks your monkey.

Racing this weekend is ON. Weather is looking perfect - a little cloud to keep extreme temps away, just a very light breeze, and a dry track all weekend.

Track opens midday on saturday for practice, and 9am on sunday for racing.

    Members, see you there!

Prospective members, wanna-hava-goers, and anyone else, sat afternoon is the ideal time to wander through the "pits" (sit on the grass under the trees) and have a little turn.

Parents, give your kids a buzz - we'll put them on a real race bike on a real track.
