Just one little issue - I boiled the rear brake so didn't have it for 2/3 of the ride. Combination of the steep hills, lack of air flow (didn't get our of first much), hot day and catalytic converters. New fluid went in at Kaikoura and then rode home with no worries. Had one little "rest" but nothing major. Pretty happy overall but no doubt a 250 would have been easier.

    Pics to come.

Doesn't work for me, but when I click the View All button I get a new Photo Bucket Window which does work.

great pictures NordieBoy ,sorry I never got to meet you as I picked up a top tip about using a piece of wood for jacking up the bike for oiling the chain or changing a rear tire. Got any tips as to how to lift up the front end?....

So, after looking at Google Earth. Is it possible to cross the Clarence head over that range to the Molesworth, eh, eh. Or just not for ADV bikes?.
    I can smell you....

Drop the clutch in first gear and pull back on the handlebars.

Interesting idea. Can get about 10 km down stream from Acheron Cobb Cottage and then it looks like it might get a bit rough for 10km, then 3km of track, then rough again for 4km then tracks all the way to the coast except have to cross near where we were playing in the shallow water (could possibly get lift with farmer).

Starting to sound like a plan....could be a big ADV ride. Would need a mid-flight re-fuel at some stage.
    I can smell you....
