the only regret i have is not having a bike there,or wheels at all for that matter. Was agony watchin all the bikes pile off the ferry while i waited for my Taxi.
14500 bikes came across on the ferrys that day alone........from everywhere you can think of in Europe pretty much.
Got over to Peel for the music festival..............stranglers and madness...........so good
have a blast mate
Hey Steeley, if you arrive on Sat morn., your best bet will to walk up to the top (or bottom) of Bray Hill I reckon. You won't have much time to get anywhere else. They'll both be packed but for good reason. You'll probably be best talking to people when you're there, the resricted areas change each year. The best veiwing more often than not, is to get to a place before the roads close and take a hike to a spot where there aren't many people. There are literaly hundreds, so no point in suggesting any.
When I last checked no one on the Island was doing bike hire. Getting around will be the biggest problem. Check the buses, they go around the course before roads close each day, coming back when they open.
One thing I can say with absolute certainty is, you're gonna' have a ball!!!
Enjoy, MK[/QUOTE]
Wow MK! You just sorted me out more ways than ya can think. (me being a procrastinator)
I have read it to my girl a couple of times too. I will do the mission as soon as THE SUN RISES! I get in on the friday evening so I have some investigating and sorting out when we get in. Thanks for your direction it helped![]()
holding the line...
they have a bike show at Laxey on the Sunday i think............you can catch a train at the North end of Douglas bay, opposite end to ferry building, check out the Lady Isabella
there.......huge water wheel used to keep the mine shafts from flooding years ago,
a couple of cats i met offered to take me round on the back of their R1s............needless to say i declined
have a couple of beers for me mate
cheers
Managed to get there in '72 to see Ago race on the island for the last time, and again in '75 when Mick Grant set a new course record on the 2-stroke Kawasaki. Spent all of '72 in and around Douglas, but got to the top of the mountain in '75. Even got round the course on mad Sunday - on a Tiger 90, which I'd ridden up from Cardiff. Wherever you get to watch the racing, you're in for a hell of a treat.

On my way now... sitting in the Koru lounge enjoying its limited top shelf and Lion Nathan grade beverages... thank you Air NZ!
I have a camera that I have yet to master to take some maybe good photos too... lots of time to work it out... in transition.
I have watched lots of video footage lately and have a plan but nothing ever goes to plan.....
I have a 50 percent hit rate for my flight to sweeden... stupid ash! I am still keen at looking at the ohlins gold!

I trust you had a ball? Got any stories to tell?
We'll be there next year. Looking forward to it already.
Do us all a favour, by bringing yourself up to speed, before pulling onto the motorway.
