Well it does feel slow compared to a M109. It's a lazy 1300 against a moderately stonkin' 1800.

Buuut, then, really a Rocket III or a $75K Harley are about the only cruisers that don't feel slow compared to a 109.

Fury has sensible power for the available ground clearance.

You know how much I like the Hammer and the 8-ball, but in the STOCK-cruiser-strictly-mumbo-only stakes it's Rocket III then a stretch followed by the M109, then the field is bunched.

    It's a clean looking kit.
Interesting the comments re plastic - also a bitch in US magazines. Personally you cannot tell if it is plastic, steel or carbon-fibre when it is well formed and painted until you give it the old finger tap. Plastic is a lot lighter, but that does not appear to be a consideration to the cruiser crowd.

I'm still waiting for the company who builds a light, stripped down cruiser to really take proper advantage of the V twin grunt.

I know Dave, I'm a Tiger rider but I think that bike is bloody "ugly" and it's got a silly wee five minute tank too!

Just quietly - if it had a Harley Davidson badge on it you'd all be creaming over it ........................ be honest now, you know you would be.

Personally it's biggest failing will be the HD Sportster - starting at $13k for a 883 iron, for 'the real thing' if you like.

As a forward thinking man (well sometimes) I'm thinking there will be a excess of Sportsters on Trademe in 3-5 years that are cheap as a old Jap cruiser, as the HD dealers will only be offering crap trades on the Sporty when you want that big-block. That's when I'll be looking for my donor bike for my next project.
    Insert most evil laughter here.

When I first saw the Fury I thought someone had taken close-up shots of a two-dollar 'Hot Wheels', cheap, plastic-looking Commie Pinko knock-off of a real bike.

But no, they were full-size shots of a cheap, plastic-looking Commie Pinko knock-off of a real bike.

I pillowed every time and filled it up at 160km - no sign of the light.

Sorry can't help myself - the quote of the century from a Suzuki rider (no offence intended just throwing some stick).

Seriously don't mind the look, personally I'd still rather have a Harley and at the price you'd get a goodish second hand one. If someone likes it and they are happy then thats fine.

Iit an't a Harley unless its a Harley

Too fuckin right. So many posers want the look, the style and the sound but they are such cheap-arses they go for the gay knock-offs. Why did Honda make the Fury? Coz that style of bike is so popular in the real world, that's why. The japs didn't come up with choppers, they copied them. Why the fuck don't NZ bike magazines grow some balls and do a write up on a Big Bear, a Ness or a West Coast Choppers ride? I'll tell you why; it's because those brands dont grease their palms. There are plenty of better customs (mass produced) that would whip the Fury's arse hands down.

    Fuckin' tossers.
