It was so high I thought I fell out of bed.

I also went over the Matahuru/Ohinewai Rd (it changes at the saddle) to SH27,and coming down Ohinewai Rd I could see the skid marks of a bike going up.Looked like he was having fun, huge long slides....but I could tell he was hitting the gas and sliding well before he could see around the corners. Not much traffic on that road, but i did come across one....and I've met cattle before.

I use all the road too,but only if I can see far enough ahead for it to be safe.

clearly this was all your fault for riding up to use the toilets. Why not just shit in the woods like all the German toursits do.

Good to hear you did not get cleaned out.
I definitly endorse your above wise words. When I was training hard out on my kx500 motard bike, I did a 50km loop over the rising sun road. That road is so quiet I'd often cross my tracks from the day before, and it was so tempting to ride as if nothing was coming. I'm lucky I did not succumb to that, as one day I was faced with a full sized infracon gravel truck completely sideways rally car style coming straight at me!

There was Police tape up,and signs saying ''Stop,No Entry,Park Is Closed''.But I have a black motorcycle, which gives me access to all official functions. They are very green toilets, and I saw no floaters.Where is a Copper when you need one.....but could a pimply Cop scare a Boi Racer as much as grumpy old man?

You Can shoot Boi Racers in Taranaki, I am waiting for this Policy to be rolled out Nation Wide, I think it will a good Policy, one step closer to arming bikers.

Glad you are OK, as I am starting my Apprentceship into becoming a Grumpy old Barstard, and I will probably need the Tutorage of a true Master.

Reminds me of years ago when I was riding with this guy down the west coast and he started crossing the centre line on a very windy gravel road on his pe175. i was just thinking about what would happen if a car was coming when he hit a ute head on right in front of me. No shit he landed on the deck, and all he got was a broken ankle, or wrist can't remember. I have never forgotten it so am pretty cautious and stay on my side, but as with most of us sometimes we overcook a left hander and drift over to the opposite side and then thank our lucky stars that no one was coming.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........
