We can play it by ear, as if the weather is average, we may miss Takapari which will free up an hour or so.
yep I agree with you about the time thing Bart, another choice could be miss both comet hut, and lawrence rd(the one I was looking for) and do one of either lotkow rd, or hawkes bay's kaweka rd (Makahu saddle) the roads just back from the hot springs. would also depend on peoples fuel capacity though.

OK guys. Who's meeting where at what time......

oh, and who's bringing the camp cooker so I can cook my beans. I'm travelling light....so I can fit more beer. Don't worry, I'll share.

according to your first post - I'll be at the Ashurst service station at 9.30 - probably with Tony and maybe Shane (Stormtrooper) if hes actiually/still coming
I will NOT have a tent on board

I'll intend to stop at Shannon for a coffee if I get up early enough

you'd better get some good weather for us....

It lives! The KTM lives! Finally going again....But does it count as a rebuild if not all of the parts arrived on time? Probably won't go pop this weekend.... And hopefully the balding rear tyre will make it all the way around.

I WILL be camping. I will see if I can dig out the camp stove Bart. And some Rum.

Marks, I'll try to hook up with you for the ride to Ashhurst. Where & when do you want (?) to meet?

    Good one

I'm so tempted to make lots of snide remarks about ktm reliability but I'm worried that doing that will somehow jinx the klr soooo....

I think it takes about 75 minutes from Pram to Ashhurst so to allow time for a quick coffee stop in Shannon I suggest we meet in Waikanae at the coffee kiosk at the north end of town and leave there by 8am (Tony and Shane are both from Waikanae)

Any late arrivals can catch up at Ashhurst

    does that sound ok?
