I keep a close enough eye on my bikes that I don't have to wait six months to be told there is a potentially dangerous problem with one of them. But some of the most thorough warrent checks I have seen done on my bikes have been done at VTNZ's (Botany), as opposed to a couple done by some to remain unnamed "bike" mechanics where they've hardly glanced at 'em.
Judge a mechanic/WOFman by how well they do their job - not by the name on the top of the building.
Nah, I'd probably let everyone drive their own car on. I understand that Youtube has a unsatisfiable need for "epic fail" videos.
lol I have to say.. it happens to me too... TAKANINI... me thinks I don't want to do my restricted there... if they are biast against woman.... ! GO PB!
When i got my first car (i has gotten my restricted the day before) It was nice little 82 Civic....
I took it in for a wof (didnt have one at the time i used the driving teachers car for the test) and came 25mm from putting the car in the pit, Given the tyres were only 30mm wide it was still close enough for me to (feel it happening) and shit myself. All good now but still dont like driving over the pit Lol
hey girls...
HTFU
what a ride so far!!!!
Didn't read the whole thread, but has anyone suggested that the reason they let blokes drive in is a sympathetic mind to bruising their ego?
Occurs to me that some guys would take not being let to drive in as an implication they aren't up to it.
Pretty weak argument I know, but your gripe should have nothing to do with what gender you are, and to flat out say it was because you're a woman is leaping to a conclusion that has too many variables to decide.
He saw you drive up and didn't fancy your skills?
You're car has scuff marks on the tyres indicative of curb hopping while parking?
He might have, (right or wrongly) had those in mind for example.
There is a point that has not been mentioned maybe?
VTNZs have lanes that you must leave the car/bike in and then you hand over the keys when you pay at the counter.
No member of the public is allowed in the testing area. If they let anyone drive onto the pit they are breaking their own rules. The only exceptions I have seen are for fleet or commercial users. Or professional drivers.
That doesn't excuse any rudeness, poor service etc. The customer is always right etc..
Wow, instant experts, just add water and you get sticky SHIT!
For all of those guys who fail to see the plain truth, get a life.
Discrimination happens everywhere and if it's not pointed out soon enough we will all suffer more not less for it.
PB is quite right to ask why?
The answer might not be what she wanted to hear and it's patently wrong ( read their own rules) but at least she is doing something about it.
We can all beg to differ, we can all put forward funny anecdotes and tell her to HTFU but ultimately, everyone of us here know this is a wrong situation and we should all rdie on down there and give em shit for casting naspersitions upon one of our own! Even if it did occur while she was drinving her cage.
I'll tell you where to take the car and the bikes when I see you next PB.
Every day above ground is a good day!:
My local VTNZ does let customers drive in at all. Woman, Venusian, marsian, or otherwise. They always take the car from the "customer" area to the pit area and beyond.
I don't think this is sexist. I'm sure they're just as scared of asian drivers asell. They probably shit themselves just thinking about asian women drivers.
Some things are worth dying for, living is one of them.
