Rode BMW1000RR

I didnt have alot on last Saturday so thought what a great chance to cruise around some of the local bike shops to see what was new,I jumped on the KTM to my first stop Hamilton Motorcycles, I was in there about 15 seconds before Heath threw me the keys to the new BMW1000rr, this made the adrenalin levels ride somewhat as I had read about this bike and was very interested to see how it was.
Now Im not going to write a review with 30 mins on a bike, nor do I think Im qualified so Im not going to pretend to be, But I really really rated this bike!!
The biggest things I noticed over a Japanese bike was the awesome Brakes,smooth and responsive suspension and the massive torque, the Japs are of course brilliant at all the above but I thought the BMW was superior to anything I have ridden in the past
(disclaimer would be I ride a motard at the moment so going back a tad on my memories for the jappas) and I have been lucky to ride most breeds on the road and track.

The build quality of it was noticeably german, with everything finished very well, Controls and the dash was very user friendly, no more weird indicators on this bike, however I did think the indicator switch was very small but then again this is a superbike not a traffic commuter.
My Ride wasnt long enough and really the bike was spanking new so I was under instruction to keep the revs below 10k, which I adhered to completely, but even within this RPM range the bike was in boogie mode a few times, It had four modes rain, wow, yeee haaa and FUCK YEAH, I had it set to YEEE HAAAA which was plenty for me on the road.

So not a review but my thoughts on it, at around $31k its an expensive bike for a litre weapon but Im thinking it would be worth each penny.

Last time I was in Hamilton Motorcycles I asked to take a bike for a ride. Was told quite clearly that unless I was really serious on buying it, that I wasn't going to ride it.

I've bought from them in the past - a good experience;

The last new BM I test - rode (R1150R) - I purchased - a great bike; Sometimes I reckon you need to get 'out there' and test the faith

torque? here's a review with dyno curves comparing the bm to the cbr and the cbr has a much fatter midrange in hp and torque
