When I was looking for my Bonnie, I had the mis-fortune to go in there.
Took a mate (male) with me.
The sales man kept asking him what he wanted, he said more than once "ask her, its her bike"
So the salesman looked at him & said "well, what does she want"
I said "I want you to go fuck yourself" and walked out
Brought my brand new bike from ANZA
Funny you should say that, i went in there looking for some advice about getting my restricted licence, they were definatly not interested in helping me!! Good on ya for walking out!! thats terrible!!

Suzuki dealer in Chch Manchester St I think
Any shop that stays open at 5:30 on a friday night for 3 wet bikers and offers you a coffee and a towel gets my vote, mind you I spent a couple a hundy.
Also Murry Thorn here in little ole Mot, not much stock but good at getting stuff in quickly

Sportzone in Manchester St are up there for sure....as are the Suzuki guys in Hornby, maybe a bit more-so----. I make a habit of avoiding Casbolt's Honda in Manchester St ( The most unwelcoming Honda shop in NZ in my book) ...and Norjo Kawasaki in Hornby, ditto and for similar reasons.....

I have just employed George from www.motorcycle-doctors.co.nz he has offered some pretty good rates and prices for parts, admitidly he has lower over heads, but the difference in price was huge!!

I've had bad experiences at just about every place I've gone to. I often resort to sourcing the part myself and paying a mate with beer or similar to fit it.

Yea I really dont get it, i have been to a few auckland shops now, and have struggled to get help. this situation is worsened by the fact i have a wad of cash burning a hole in my pocket!! (Last was tuesday arvo, i was the only one in the store and dumb and dumberer were too busy behind the counter wristin each other off!!)

I would love to hear from some retailers on here!!! do the owners know what $12.50 an hour is doing to there reputations?

Went to both Motomail and Cycletreads over the weekend.

Motomail were really helpful and we bought some boots for hubby. Couldn't find a jacket to fit me properly but the sales chap was very helpful anyway.

Cycletreads were good too. I didn't realise it was a new store, haven't been there before. Hubby was a bit pissed off to find the oxford hot grips we bought from them last week (online order) for $95 were on sale in the shop at $57 - he mentioned this to the sales chap who was very obliging and gave us a $40 discount on the jacket and kneepads we bought. Didn't realise they were actually having a special sale till we got back home and saw their email, so the specials were probably in store only, so thumbs up to them.

Since they sell direct to a customer, I guess Mr Whippy would, in fact, be a retailer and not a wholesailor...

Dunno how many 250cc harley bikes are around. Might have something to do with it.
I guess they tried to sell you some tassles though.

    Is that inbreeding?

Bayride have been good to me, with servicing my Duc's, and Boyds in Hamilton have given my some wicked deals on gear...
Boyds I would say in the Waikato would have the most leather gear to try on that's unbranded from motorcycle brands.. meaning HD leather gear and Trumpys, even including the BOP area?

Service manager not an owner, but yes we do read these threads !
Interesting that the " xxx shop is crap" threads run to 10 pages in no time but "xxx shop is good" thread's seem to take a bit longer !!

Too true, if you know what you want its fine but if you want some help forget it, but i would have to say at least the staff at motomail get out from behind the counter.

As for Cycletreads their new place is good but they still have the same old crap that has been laying around .
I guess thats why they are having the sale to try and get rid of some of there old stock.Ii was looking at the leather race suits and they look as if they have been there for years all covered in dust and dirty and only small or very big sizes, and that goes the same for the gloves.

Most places are the same, no-one seems to want to work or give you some help and they are all grumpy. sure at times you get good service like the guy who helped me get my knee braces and when you say i can pay cash for that bike but most of the time it is seems just too hard for them.

they wonder why people are buying online, i do like to go into a shop look around and try on the things i am looking at buying, but as there arn't the right sizes i just go else where.
Motomail have it right with this as they don't stock everything but what they do they have the right sizes.

Well i brought my used GSXR1000 from Just Motorcycles in New Brighton Christchurch. Its been an awsome bike.
The owner is short but he knows his stuff, only sells used bikes that are in good condition and i hear their mechanics are top notch and provide great service.
    LOL........
