GO BRO GO
wife house and two kids going cheap....will throw in current job for free.
That shit is what life is about.
There are two kinds of adventurers: those who go truly hoping to find adventure and those who go secretly hoping they won't. We should come home from our adventures having faced their perils and uncertainties, endured their discomfort and beaten the odds, with a sly acknowledgment and revitalised solidarity of character.
you can say that again
Unlikely to ride this year. Am checking out freight prices and support packages just in case temptation gets the better of me, but my sights are more firmly set on Safari 2011.
Having finished it last year I now know it's not technically difficult to reach the end. It's doable by anyone who puts the preparation in. Getting a good placing is something else though.
For 2011 I hope I've improved my riding skills and fitness enough so that I can finish closer to JayBo - assuming he does it again.
If anyone is considering it and wants more detail topo and I learnt lots from last year and it'd be great if we could help another kiwi contingent out.
Temping just to bolt a roll chart holder onto a second hand Ausi DRZ400/WR450/450EXC (tyres and sus tweaks) and go for a fang i.e. do it el cheapo. Definitely won't be this year with baby due in few weeks. Next year who knows.
I'd ride a quad if that was what was needed for a team. Surely a modern racing type quad would be easier to blat around on than an farm one - bit of fun to slide around

Shit Yeah! I wish I had that kind of time and $$$... Job, house, kids etc etc blah blah blah...
Unless a 3 yr old stock suspension DR650 is competitive and shipping, fuel, accom, food etc etc costs less than $1000 all in!
Anyone here want to sponsor me,- please!
I'll post on here everyday, twice, saying how great your products are, and put stickers on everything!
Serously though, I would LOVE to, buts its on the same list as the BAJA, Finke, Dakar... I think I have the ability, but better get a lotto ticket!
I am up for it, but I think my handlebars are bent. Damn can't see any way round that. Fcuk.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........
Topo when are you walking out of the dugout?

2008 DB1K 1dayer - 2006 XR250L
2009 DB1k 1dayer - 2005 KLX400R
2010 DB1k 1dayer - 2004 KDX125SR
2011 DB1k 1dayer - 2008 WR250R
My intention is to step up in 2011, at this stage i'm planning on riding a DRZ400 with all of the nessary mods. Most of the peices i made for the 640e will swap over fairly easily, all of my nav brackets, roadbook, bash plate with water holder etc all be made locally, maybe if someone is interested in doing a parralell buidup i could make multiple copys of the tower/fairing etc.
Fisrt step in the buildup is to sell the 640, someone out there's gotta want a 640e thats only done 1000km/16hrs since it's last service.
