haha, reminds me of the bike I saw at the shop the other day - Peeled out tires like he'd just been to the track (nearest a few hours away), sticky tape marks on the number plate, a cam and a radar mount on the tank lol

I'd strongly consider such a system if average-speed cameras come to NZ. Fuck those things in the arse.

When I lived in Roundabouta (the city formerly known as 'Tauranga') in '98 - '99, there were two guys on a ride I went on that had similar devices, but they were operated by cables like choke cables, from a knob positioned discreetly by the left side of the seat. I've always thought a servo-operated one would be kewler - obviously someone else did too.

Interestingly, they were mentioned on last night's news. I think it was by Judith Collins (iirc).
Whether we have the population to warrant that kind of technology?

Saw a thread somewhere about a group of UK bikers who overtook a mufti bike cop who then proceeded to film their antics. I think at least one ended up in jail ( they've seriously lost their sense of humour about speed over there!!! ) and the two who had flip up number plates also got done for perverting the course of justice.... which kind of makes you think

My RG150 resided in Tauranga around then........with a piano-hinge plate........for a brief period of time.

Can't the cops catch you when you're the only one on a blue yamaha with X color leathers or whatever in a small rural town etc regardless if you are caught (license plate seen) in the pursuit?

I don't think it's illegal to have one of these on a bike. As long as the tag is clearly visible for at least 100m or something it should be all good.
