[QUOTE=wbks;1129700902]This is good advice but unfortunately, at 16 he's probably a bit past wanting a father figure.[/QUOTE

You could well be right. It's sometimes just that time out doing man stuff that is essentially fun that they are missing. They forget how good it is to hang out with the drownup male and do manly things that don't include drugs or alcohol. Worth a crack Nigel!

I chucked my 18y/o son out of the house after he thought it was ok to tell me to get fucked one night, there was some other really horrible things said after I challenged him for saying it so he was told to leave. Very upsetting for me, infact the hardest thing I have ever done. But it was the best thing I have ever done We are closer than we have ever been now. Took about 3 months for him to settle and appreciate his old Mommy after he left home. Now he is so yummy.

He needs a hard hand of loving love. Honestly, he must not be allowed to get away with making you feel the way you do. mY boy went from lovely to totally out of line over night. How old is your charmer?

So just the usual stuff then, thought for a minute he was getting out of hand.

What he wants and what is good for him are two totally different things. If you want to fuck him up real bad, just give him everything he wants.

Ditto. Did the same to my daughter with the exact same result. Worked out great for me too. Best buddies now.

They're meant to help around the house? That's an uphill battle from about 10 years old...

No need to put up with that. My teenager is yet to get to this stage (and I naively hope he won't), but thinking back to when I was a little shit, it was mainly triggered by my mother being "completely unreasonable" and inflexible. Now I have no doubt that while a lot of the unreasonable was for my account, she was pretty inflexible about a lot of things, which was a bit of an obstacle to conversation. Being a teenager is pretty frustrating, as others have pointed out. Just saying: open conversation is helped along by listening to him with an open mind, even if he doesn't know what the hell is going on inside his own head at the time. "Patience of a saint" is a necessary ingredient of the standard parenting skill pack, after all...

Well, harsh economics apply, I'd politely tell him you aren't happy with his behaviour and he needs to fix that if he wants your money. You could of course give him one more chance so he can get to his course... but I'd suggest one more chance only.

Good luck: as a friend of mine (who has well-adjusted adult boys) says... just remember, they go away for a while, but they do come back.

Is this his first year at a course? Hes trying out the independant 'man about town' attitude methinks. Tell him to shape up or you are shipping him out. As for petrol money, tell him to budget cos its good training for the big wide world.

    Whats wrong with him?

As i have been told... When i was around that age, I was the same. I am now older and slightly less mature (arent we all?) and was told that around that age, We are "young, Dumb and full of Cum"

So buy him some Magazines.. And make him work. Even if you have to get the boys in blue to help you out just to make him remember who the boss in the house is

Im sure they wont mind locking a trouble maker up in the cell for a night. If it turns him out to be a good boy later on in life.
The only stupid question is a question not asked!
