    Older KLR650 electrical woes.

    Long story short Mag has healthy output CD1 just doesnt give it to the coil when attached,ideas?

    Cmon you buggers,must be someone out there good with lecky problems,have checked all the obvious things and no go,its getting cold in the shed and ive got a date with a Woodstock,help me get this thing sorted eh.

    have a check of this thread on klr650.net, it also has a link to a wiring diagram if you don't have one, has a few ideas for checking the ignition system. http://www.klr650.net/forums/showthr...t=37265&page=2

    No worries, hope it's some help to you, I have a haynes oor clymer manual with the electrical tests in it if you want to know any specfic tests, and voltage/ohm readings just let me know.

    is your pick up working? measure the pickup coil and make sure there is continuity
    i doubt very much that your cdi has packed in,
    also check your kill switch
