I think you're just unlucky. I tooted at a cop this morning who stopped at the top of Trig road instead of turning into the merge lane (the twatt).
First of all I got a rear vision mirror look of WTF?! Then I tooted again and he must have realised why I was tooting and just carried on.......

Most of the ones I come across are friendly/normal enough.

It's obvious you're a menace on the road. Please stay in the North Island, eh...?

If ya so damb tired you forget to put your helmet on then getting on a bike should be the last thing you do

PS: You wouldn't be the same idiot I saw on St Lukes Rd riding a black and chrome cruiser with no gear including helmet today?

EDIT: No, that was your cousin.

And no, Auckland cops are not arseholes and you are not unlucky, unless you call getting caught breaking the law unlucky.

For me was THE FIRST ONE. I am a strong believer in ATGATT and even commuting I ride in full leather. Even when I go offoroad I use helmet boots and gloves at least.

No problem Virago. I'll let the south island to the fuckwits getting caught doing in excess of 200kph around Chch on a regular basis - so often that the police have a campain cracking down on bikers speeding and doing other unlawfull shit on the main highway.

Yea, he should have bought the bike without test riding it first, that would be the smart thing to do

lol, did I missread it or did he just say how safely he rode, only caught out by a short burst of speed (which I think all of us are guilty of at least once while passing), and his own decision, of his own safety? Yea, he'd better learn... I mean, how the fuck can we complain about this nanny state without contradicting it by scorning the personal decisions of others?

No cops, in general, are not arseholes. They are doing the job they are expected to do. But, like any large employer there is always the odd plonker in every job, just like any large membership internet website, KB also has plonkers.

Slow down in the Rodney District. It has a high rate of road deaths and injury/non-injury crashes and as such is heavily policed. For goodness sake wear a helmet and protect your cabbage.

Hey I've got on a bike and accidentally set off without a helmet on before.

It took less than 3 seconds to feel the wind against my ears.

The strongbraking effect as the ears dragged the wind was like driving a car with the handbrake on. So I turned around and got my helmet.

I don't believe anyone could actually ride for more than a few seconds and not realise they were not wearing a helmet. You then make a choice:

    1. Faaark it, I'm not going far OR
    2. Turnaround and get your helmet.

I forgot and didn't realise wouldn't get any simpathy from PC Plod as it is clear you are just taking the Piss.
