NASS is on the north shore I believe. Not a women-exclusive thing though. I would love to come along to a ride if you get some organised (I am rubbish at organising anything; it's a miracle I get myself from A to B sometimes)

I am not worried about the women only thing, I just thought it may be weird riding with guys and leaving the husband at home with the kids....... (tried to imagine how I would feel if he was off riding with a bunch of women and not me - I don't think I would like that!!)

Anyway, what suburb are you in? And what is NASS ??

Info about NASS from the Wiki:
    http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/wiki/Nort..._Street_Skills

It is a free skills training session that includes a ride. I'll guestimate there is 4 or 5 woman that come along each week.

Suburbs have no relevance when you have motorsickle!
Mr. Hellokitty should realise that it's a male dominated hobby so you're going to be around men all the time anyway.

Mr Hellokitty is awesome, and trusts me completely, I feel bad when I go off riding and leave him at home with the kids - but they are his kids, not mine

I have heard of that, unfortunately, I have a really demanding job, and I would be far too tired to do an evening training session. I believe that it is too easy to screw it up and have an accident when you are too tired - mentally and physically.

You can always do jusy the car park exercises - you should be pretty safe at low speed.

You could try the Sunday ride.

    http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ad.php?t=96387

We are all different speeds so we wait for each other.
My other half rides as well and she is no speed demon and she is always complaining that no other women come along.

Pretty much. Just watch the Sunday ride thread. That is where people say wether they are coming along or not.

hellokitty. This is the lady with the Harley sportster that you sent an email to. I do not live on the shore but can just pop over the Greenhithe bridge or meet you half way. I am very tempted to offer you a ride on my bike to try her out, maybe in a quiet carpark or street, but wouldnt mind meeting you first. I have just got back to riding after many years and have a very patient friend who rides with me. I go for short rides often and am just starting to venture further so know how you are feeling. The Wed Kiwibikers that meet at the Shell Westgate and then ride over to Albany would be very helpful also. The guys there have been so supportive and respectful encouraging me. But I dont think I will ride much at night with them as I can ride during the day and I really just need the milage.
