    20l fuel consumption

    Hi
how many hours riding roughly would you expect to get on a 250cc 2stroke (e.g.CR) with a 20l tank fuel, Trail riding with some blitzing around?? I know lots of variables but just roughly...
    Thanks

I'd say anywhere from 5 to 7 hours of actual riding time depending on how it was ridden and how many times you fell over and fuel leaked out.

But that's hour meter riding time, generally if you go out for a ride and it's 4 hours between leaving the car and returning you will have only done half that in engine hours. So you could assume 2 to 4 "days" riding I would imagine.

    My approximation anyway.

At the weekend I road for around 2hrs (no watch) before sprocket broke, and ended my day. I'd put 10 liters in, there's still some in tank, just seemed like a bit of a guzzler... not sure of cr tank size. Just bought 20l can so wonder what that will last me. What do most people use/carry in a day for 250cc 2 stroke? cheers

On my bike I start the day with a full tank (approx. 8 litres) and I have another 8 litre tin which is full, at the end of the day my spare can is empty and my bike's about half full. I tend to drain the leftover fuel and put it in the lawnmower or something just to start the next ride on fresh fuel.

I guess over a full day's riding I am using almost 12 litres.

Yesterday My 200exc did 6.4 litres of fuel, did 63k and 2.4 hours actual riding time (my gauge only clocks when the front wheel is turning) in the forest at Riverhead. It is quite a bit better than my Cr250 ever was so until B000M or Cheese adds their comments if you did 8 or 10 litres in two hours thats about right I'd say.

The bike was on its side 3 or 4 times so add that in LOL!!!

I think my bike is rather thirsty, going on the tussock buster fuel consumption. About 85k - 90k on more than 10L of fuel.
So from 20L or 2 full tanks on my bike (19L) I would expect around 160 - 180K of riding. Maybe 200k if I rode nana like.

But fuel consumption is very directly linked to how rich your bike is jetted, obviously, but i have heard of people leaning the needle one clip and going from say 80k/tank to 100k/tank without really changing the way they ride. Something to consider.
we may just go where no ones been

Noobi my bike did 93k, 2.7 hours riding on 9L fuel at that last Mr moto ride we did together if you want a comparison??
We rode together so you know what type of riding it was, I think my tank is 11L??

1 tank- 7.5 litres, will typically last me about an 1 hour 15 minutes racing, or up to 2 hours on a trail. depending on the trail of course. the harder you ride it, the more it uses.

Pfft...12 litres for a days riding. Thats a half day. You should get out more often LOL!!

The 300 is damn hungry. About 75-80k on a tank (8 litrs) before I hit reserve.

I go through about 3 litres/hr on the 200 - smell of an oily rag.

Another guy I ride with has an earlier model exc200 which has larger 38mm carb (mine has 36mm) and he uses a lot more fuel. We ride at similar pace and last ride we compared fuel consumption - I used under 7 litres he'd used 10 litres. Jetting changes can make a big difference but don't lean it up too much and seize it. Yours sounds about what you'd expect it to be.

For a 'full days' riding do you manage 3 tanks of gas, or 225 - 240km on average? That equals 2 decent enduros back to back based on the numbers given. That's an effort. I applaud you.
