Great idea!
Wouldn't it be better to do this at say 1PM~ though?
That way:
-The roads have warmed up and are ice-free going forward.
-People get to sleep in after their Friday night / Week at work.
-Those working morning shifts on Saturdays (aka. People that work at bike shops!) would be able to join.
-People don't have to have lunch out!
Sorry to butt-in!

So what's really happening - 10am, 10:30, 1pm?... Just trying to work out if I can get the oil leak fixed by 10 or not... Peetey, if you want a ride you can always come help sort out all those electronics bits...!
Max
1000 at BK for a 1030 depature.
GP and myself wanted to do this ride with lunch some where nice, just for social reasons.
Going to Akaroa might try the fish and chips there on the beach.
Ah, I completely forgot. Yep, would love to! What sort of time are you thinking? I'll try to be awake early enough to at least go say g'day to the Sat morning riders then, once they go, come help out.
My home number is on my profile page, my cell doesn't work out here but is fine once I'm in town. Maybe give me a yell just before 9.30 and we'll take it from there. I'll check back here before I go just in case.
Coolio,
Pete

I'll probably not join as:
A) It's probably too early for me for a big ride
B) I went for a great ride out that way with Transalper today
and C) I'll be helping Max with electronic bits, unless he wants to go for a ride too in which case I may join you all if I get a good nights sleep.
Am still wound up after gig ...

Has anybody done fiberglass and resin fixes on their bike before? Someone I know is letting me use their supplies but I'm not sure what to do with it yet. Should I buy sandpaper and primer or something as well?
I'd guess yes on the sandpaper and probably some disposable gloves too! Primer - probably afterwards, get a disposable dust mask or two as well (goggles probably good too for later sanding stages - all assumes you're sanding back the FG to paint, but maybe not if it's all hidden?)
Also - haven't done any FG but would guess it's like normal body-bog when it comes down to it - it's a glue, if you put glue over an unstable/weak layer (the paint!) with nothing to "key" to then eventually they'll separate. Would also guess that epoxy on some plastics will never be strong; you might be up for checking if wiring (drill holes & recessing channels into **outside** of the panel, spanning the crack, so you can run wires to lace-up the crack - tight on the dressy side, so they can go in under the bog/filler, loose on the back so the epoxy can have something to set around) ... all depends on the panel in question!! (And you could end up making it too strong and getting stress elsewhere, who knows).
Might have some generic info on it, are you along on Weds?

Extra: try Google "fibreglass diy repair"
http://www.diy-fiberglass-repair.com...iberglass.html - good safety tips

(but http://www.sportrider.com/tech/146_0204_body/ is very comprehensive on repairing plastic ABS covers!!)
He who shall go stately at the back and not stress out.
So Gareth what was it you said about MaxF's "Funky ass curves"? - God, now I'm worried...
