    Kawa 250Ninja or Hyosung GT250R

Want a new bike (something with warranty) but will want to keep it even after full license. Anyone got any good/bad news about either of these 250s. The hyosung i think is a full size bike?

Ninja all the way mate! one of my friends bought 2009 and swears by it...on the other hand hyosungs are dime for dozen and have shit suspension.
If you want to keep it after full get ninja, if you just want to get your full on it and sell it get hyo.... just my 2 cents.

(btw i dont recommend getting 1000RR on your learners, and then urgently trying to get restricted and full...while being forbidden to ride by fuzz )

How much longer til you can go for your full license?

While I would rate the Ninja over the Hyo any day as far as build quality goes, the truth of the matter is for the same price as either of those bikes new, you can buy a good condition 2nd hand bigger bike that will have the power, brake and suspension quality you will end up craving within a year of buying another 250.

If its at all an option I'd save my money and spend it on a bigger bike.

Till this friday, but believe me it was long last few months riding in constant fear of bike being impounded ....before anyone starts bashing me about being unsafe or what not, i started riding on bandit 400 on my learners for last 5 years so 1000RR was just natural progress, lol

One would think it were quite obvious, but okay, next time just for you sweetheart I shall use the quote feature on a thread that is a whole 3 posts long so it doesn't hurt your poor little brain.

I thought the absence of a quote from a previous post was generally indicative that the post was for the OP. Miloking, as your bike is a 1000RR, I think we all assumed you already had your full. Our bad. Assumption being the mother of all fuck ups and all that. Good luck for your full test. It's a piece of cake. It's just the restricted test plus a little more open road plus naming the hazards in a 10 second window

My daughter has an 09 Ninja and loves it. I've ridden it from Wellington to Whangarei when we got it before she had her learners and loved it too. It has a yoshi pipe and sounds amazing for a 250 twin! Goes great too - we just did a trip round the South Island together - me on my VFR and her on the Ninja and it went great and set a cracking pace - cruising at 120-130 most of the time .

The only thing with them is they are quite small if you are over about 5'9". Anyone larger really doesn't have any choice but go for the Hyo. I've ridden a GT250 - power seemed good and it feels much bigger but the handling wasn't as good as the Ninja IMHO. I think the Hyo's are pretty good but unless you need to go the larger size I'd say stick with the Ninja .

Hyo has a sports bike riding position the ninja is more upright. Can't really go wrong with either bike so test ride them both and decide which one you like best! But common sense says stick with the GN.

Thanks for your input chaps i will just go try both out and see how they go. Maybe i stick with the gn for a bit then just bite the finance bullet and get the 1000RR (i assume you mean s1000rr and not the honda) Even if im too scared to ride it at least i can pull it out of the garage at the weekends and perv/polish it!
