I subscribed to a American cruiser magazine a few years back and they did the same - comparison tests between say 4 Japanese bikes then a month later four models of Harleys.

And maybe that is the way it is, just reading this thread is evident that the HD boys don't give rats-arse about any other cruiser, consequently probably don't want to read about it either.
There's this review of middleweight cruisers. Japs & Harley in the one article. http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars...4268696?page=1

Mate of mine just traded his street bob for a fury.Purchased it in blue with sissy bar and vance and hines pipes.
Sounds real nice and is something very different, it is amazingly finished he offered me a ride but i didn't have time but i will in the next couple of weeks or so hopefully.
First impression is a real good looking machine and no doubt it will be jap reliable and competent on the road.

Don't be a fuckwit, I was asking a fair question.

Name me one new-ish bike you've seen on the side of the road in recent years that had any major fault.

    Jap or otherwise.

    Bet you can't.

Will to be honest,my wifes 1400 Intruder. The drive shaft parted company with the final drive and left her stranded on the side of the road when we toured the south island in 2008.Apparantly it was never lubed at the factory which caused it to wear out. It,s an 04 model with over 50k on it and apart from that one break down has never missed a beat.

I saw a few of the fury's up in Auckland at a dealers. Must admit, an incredibly sexy bike in person. Beautiful curves that just beg you to ride it. Would be looking at one of these if I had the dosh.

Yeah fair call actually, i guess all modern bikes are reliable nowadays. His comments were things like the brakes and suspension and general ride comfort were more contemporary,he wasn't knocking his h-d but the fury has spun his wheels big time!
