Facebook is a really simple way to keep in touch with your mates/family, to share photos, chat, and organise events...

Don't see what's so bad about that

Those social networking sites are shit. If you want to 'pick the hot ones' then go to the right kind of pub on a Friday or Saturday night and find a drunk slut there.

I wish someone would invent 'Titsbook' or 'Arsebook', that would be fun........'Cockbook' already exists, its the Magnetos Scooter Club website and if you are really rude and fancy looking at 'Cuntbook', try the website of any political party, corporate company or Arsenal Football Club.com.

I don't get facebook, and I really really don't get twitter. Actually I struggle with the logic of spending all day texting someone. e.g. wht u doin? ...nutin.... wot u doin? ...nutin wot u doin? ...just seen so and so drivn past..... Cool i wil txt him. ..... Wots he doin?.... nutin.
WTF do you then talk about when you actually meet the person in person.?
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

Yeah I know, seems inane don't it. Still, if you look at human conversation, much of what we say is padding without much meaning. We could communicate the essentials with much fewer words. The reason we make small-talk (which texting sort of is) is to build up and maintain a friendly bond with the other person. By contrast consider how short your conversation is with someone you don't like.

At least on this site people spend their time complaining about topics I'm occasionally interested in.

I disabled mine weeks ago - hardly ever went on it, my email got clogged with requests for all sorts of shit from all sorts of people I barely know (if at all). My sad e-life is limited to kiwibiker and university crap which seems to be compulsory to "log in and update your blog" shit. Makes me want to scream.
I lahk to moove eet moove eet...

I see the negatives about Facebook but I used to use it to keep in touch with family and friends back in blighty as well as a few biker people. Unfortunatley ny access to the site and therefore my familiy and friends is temporarily suspended.

Still, each to their own I suppose...

Still want to see Titsbook or Arsebook though.......mind you, Piebook would tickle the old fella I reckon

Facebook is fine. The probem is some thicker old people don't understand the difference between a person and something that takes the people on your friend list, then looks for the mutual friends and puts them on a suggestion list.

You can block all emails and things sent from it, you can prevent people that aren't on your friends list from seeing your photos or any content you may post just by fiddling with some settings.
All it takes is to open your eyes and actually have a fucking look at what you're doing, like old people that don't look at the screen on eftpos machines telling them to 'select account'.

Lol, this all seems pretty hypocritical considering the amount of time spent on this site! (This could almost me construed as a facebook for bikers, with minimal pictures....)

I think facebook is great. You can choose which pictures you want to look at, and keep in touch with family and friends you probably would'nt have ever seen again.......it's quite interesting seeing what people get up to as they grow up....and how some do'nt grow up at all!

Oh, and you can just ignore the requests......
