you shouldnt be allowed to post on this thread you piking trollop...

weather was patchy on Friday and great on Sat and Sun

you would have had a blast if you'd come - 42nd x 3 and Whanga x 2 plus we had an awesome ride between Mangaweka and Fielding via Kimbolton on the way home.

Yeah Bart, you really missed out. HUGE weekend. Hope you got that house!

Not too many photos from the w/e...too busy riding. Marks & I did our own thing Friday & Saturday (Friday - 42nd twice - 2nd attempt rained from 1/2 way, then got dark, Saturday - Old Whanga Rd there & back). Met with the guys for a few bevvies saturday night, & rode wth them Sunday. Missed out on Fishers due to Marks puncture (see Chris's photo) - damn. Regrouped with the guys for a 3rd ride down 42nd. On the ride back Sunday night - awesome ride along the ridge tops from Rangiwahia - Feilding - magic sunset. Home about 8.00pm.

    1. 1st section of the 42nd
    2. Tunnel Old Whanga Rd
    3. Doesn't look too bad. When in doubt...gas it
    4. Mark bellied out on a pipe rut. News flash - KLR runs out of ground clearance...
    5. Maybe that wasn't the best line

I'm trying to humiliate my piece of shit bike for letting me down, by leaving it on the trailer over night. That should teach it a lesson.

Clutch cable has arrived, so into the shop tomorrow.

Nice work with the videos Eddie.
I got got stuck in that same bit as JMJ in the video, but I had dino behind me to provide encouragement (not help) so I made it through.
Glad you were not behind me when I had my little "off"

I managed a moderate speed bin on the 42nd, not sure what happened, but while trying to avoid a deep rut I think I locked up the rear going a bit quick and ended up on the deck.
I was trying to keep it quiet (the partner has hissy fits about these things sometimes), but after moving some gear out of the car today she worked out something was not quite right, so I gave her a vauge description of my crash. She then asked why the left side of my face was considerably larger than the right, after a check in the mirror and she was right. My head must have hit the deck a bit harder than I thought. I am pretty sore, my forearm is pretty swolen from wrist to elbow and I have a decent bruise above my elbow (just between the shoulder and elbow pads on my jacket). My entire sholder is pretty sore and very stiff, even after a bath and some tiger balm.
I will be taking it easy for a while, might even strip the 690 and give her a really good once-over and a well deserved clean.

The speed was great, quick enough to make it in before dark, and slow enough to enjoy the scenery.

I don't remember Fishers being as mucky as that, I was using the "momentum is your friend" technique so I probalby missed seeing a fair bit of it due to fish-tailing it all over the place. Stupid 50/50 tires, I wanted 50% mud/50% gravel tires.
The 2nd half of the 42nd was good fun on the sunday, it was quite slick in places, provided a few challenges, and a few moments of excitement.

Marks, did you get any decent photos of me coming up that muddy face where triboy had a spill? (Which was totally your fault apparently)

they werent that flash - I've yet to sort through them all properly
you should have told us all on the day that you had a good biff in the 42nd - we can always use a good laugh - hows the bruising?

Triboy will forgive me eventually - or not
