    Wardens strike back

If you see anybody parked in the "loading zone" on Symonds St advise them it may cost them $40 for the priviledge. I'm also wanting to here from those hit by the latest wave of indifferent wardens ticketed for not displaying wof/rego...

    Pass the word around

The parking wardens have a new chief, which isn't necessarily a good thing as the last one was not too bad, and this fellow is an unknown quantity who is probably not aware of the history regarding enforcement and parking and promises made in this area

Looks like time to remind them of their promises AGAIN.

ie - "No parking will be lost"

Maybe Fair Go would like to follow up again too

dont really understand auckland uni street parking so much? dont you have that massive carpark building? and the bit under the quad? im sure there would be more parking off street behind some buildings etc?
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

...we also have a massive population of bikes and scooters and hardly any designated motorbike parking. so most riders have to fit where they can, and this has been acceptable. although i understand they probably shouldnt park in loading zones, disabled parking, etc that are specifically designated for other people.

Should the council be relying on the goodwill of private enterprise to make up for its failures?

More to the point, we used to ahve a LOT more street parking than we have now. And they took it away. When the total PTW fleet is increasing. They should be adding more not removing it.

There are also a lot of 'casual' motorcyclists who physically visit Uni without being part of the uNi scene, and therefore don't know about Cp36, Owen G Arsehole building etc.

Sorry what failure? Councils are going to make on street parking really expensive / difficult in the next 5 years

This is aimed at discouraging private car usage to mitigate time/space/environmental impacts in the CBD surely?

It follows then that the path ought to be smoothed for more two-wheelers to be used as commuter vehicles, and there will be a follow on increase in bike/scooter numbers for the same reason.

kinda, more so to increase public transport usesage and availability. Auckland uni will be a prime target for public transport. Motorbikes and scooters dont even get a look in by planners / engineers so don't count on bike parking staying or increaseing.
