    I missed out on Metallica tickets, and so have many of you.

    We've missed out because of this shit;

    And there is more.......

    I'm sick of these fucken scum fuckers doing this shit, i'm absolutely stoked that some people are taking the piss and bidding over $80,000! Lol. I'm thinking about making another account and bidding like crazy on them all at the last minute so they have to keep re-listing them. Cunts.

    Yeah they sure did. It should be a two ticket maximum, and any tickets sold on for more than the purchase price no-longer valid, this can be regulated by it being compulsary to have a photo of the ticket showing it's number in the ad.

    Trademe/sella whathaveyou should be prosecuted if any are sold without a photo of the tickets number displayed in the ad. I thought scalping was actually illegal. (not sure on this one)

    same here, or just win all the auctions that don't go too unreasonable but then fuck them round and never pay up!

    It's disgusting, but the easiest thing is for no-one to bid more than the purchase price....

    First link is up to $6,000,000 (yes - that's $6m).

    I'd love to see the seller cough up the success fee on that one. Serves the bastard right!

    even a genuine bid got upto 1500 for two silver tickets, before someone wacked 80g on it.
    i shoulda bought a couple and they could have bought me a fair chunk of an R1 or streetfighter.
    what cracks me up, is the people ruining the auctions have lots of trades, and have many items for sale themselves.
    ahh trademe. its all a scamsite.

    One thing I fail to understand is why scalping is considered so terrible. Generally if I buy something cheaply and sell it for more I feel that I have made a wise investment. Why are event tickets special? If I own something I should be able to onsell it and the market should set the price. I don't get involved in ticket scalping because I cant be bothered and dont have the money for the cash outlay but I find it hard to work out why people consider it to be some great evil.

    ticket scalping is bad cos by getting the tickets in the first place you are removing the opportunity for others to get them.

    And how is that different from buying a limited addition print of an artists work as an investment? Some people want the artwork purely to appreciate it, some look at it as an investment and plan on onselling it. If you buy something and can sell it for more thean what you paid, then the original price was lower than what the market value is. That is what some people call a bargain or a wise investment.
