I've decided to not tear my FS-1 fizzy to bits for parts for my YG-1 but decided to do it up instead as it's mostly complete.
(1970's Yamaha 50cc 2-stroke road-bike for those who may not know what one is)
Anyway, this bike had been outside for a while before I purchased it and didn't have a sparkplug in it. Result - dry seized of course.
So, took the head off, got lots of oil in there, left it for a while and then turn the engine over with the spanner on the flywheel, without much effort it turned over and managed to get the barrel and piston out.
Barrel looks good only a couple of tiny marks here and there. Piston looks good too but only issue is the rings are stuck in grooves.
What do you recommend the best way of unsticking them is?
Soak the piston in CRC?
