    Dropped something in gas tank!

Did something really stupid, was adding some carb cleaner to my gas tank and the round paper that sits on the lids fell out right into the gas tank.

Now whats the best way to get it out? I was thinking of running the fuel down then pulling the tank and pulling the fuel sender until out to get to it would that work?

I can't imagine on how it would hurt the gas tank. But feel free to enlighten me.
Best way would be using 2 bits of wire.

Or fill the bike up and hope it floats to the top?

Hyosungs have a pretty wide tank though so you might need something to fish it out with...

    Does the paper thing float?

I'd simply whip the tank off, tip it upside down to drain it and have the offending bit of paper come out.

It's that waxy paper so I doubt it floats.

    Do'nt lie. It's a calculator watch, is'nt it?

Teach its owner to fix it and it'll break in some way you've never seen before.

Initially it won't cause any issues but probably over time if it stays in there it'll probably breakdown & disintergrate.

just drain the tank of as much fuel as possible, shake the tank till the remaining fuel & cap seal on one side then lay it on that side and with a piece of wire skewer the offending piece and gently guide it out

Sell the bike and get a different one. It will also fix the need to add carb cleaner.

Just leave it there, worst it can do is block the fuel filter a little, and it's unlikely to ever get past the tank strainer in any case.

Either use a paper magnet or just fill the tankl so it floats out the filler hole .
Slight tip here -------> Water is cheaper than fuel and cleans really well.
