I'd like to be there. Rules are usually safe bike, helmet, boots (not gumboots). Sparkie not normally stated. Cost $30 ish, usually $10 cheaper for club members.

I've done a couple of shocking wet slippery muddy rides out there. Can be fcuking steep - on one long hill the DR-Z250 would run out of traction/power even in the dry if not tackled expertly - add rain and greasy mud... hmmm. That's also on the main A-grade loop ie not a short optional loop. So greasy mud, grassy paddocks, loose dirt where they've bulldozed fresh trails. Definitely run soft-ish terrain tyres.

Other rides out there have been ace! Luck of the draw... in the lap of the weather gods.
    Cheers,
    Colin

If I'm not too sore and in one piece after this weekends classic mx and next weekends 3-hour cross country I should be there either with the XR or DR.

Basically long sleeves, boots and helmet.
Cost is usually about $30 odd for the day.

I'll most likely be there with Gonzo.

I issue a challenge to other big bikeriders to front up & fall over with me.

    Esp KTMS.

Fluffybum could bring his trailer with an assortment of bikes for us to use

Sweet. Thanks guys. Gonna build a carrier that bolts to the back of the Vitara chassis so no KTM Padmei. Might flip the rear tyre or put the newish spare on. Hope to see you there! Fingers cross SWMBO is amenable.

    Cheers R

Whhhay.......can bring brp, you could leave gonzo in the park for a rest. Has a leaking clutch arm seal so will fix that. You can bump it in second down hill no probs any way else and you will get hot and have stronger legs. I like electric starts. They are my friend. Looking forward to crashing with you guys again.
Will bring BRP and ONP on the trailer.
    Any fords on this one?.
Saw the guy from the last one in the OR, ( the one getting stretchered into the van) bad compression break. Will try hard not to do that!!!!.
    I can smell you....

Does anyone know if the specials on the cycletreads website also applies to the nelson shop? gotta get some new rubber before the xc on sunday, i'm not going to risk it with the amount of rain we've had lately.

whose gonna come out for a look?
Nordie you riding the XR? whats the word from shane about the state of the track?

I would love to come out for a look-see (or even better, race!) but saving my brownie points for the Lamb Valley laid back on the 30th. Speaking to Gra-gra today, he grabbed a new Kiwi MX rear from McLeans. He had fun & games at Waiau while seeing if reversing the rear tyre was as bad as I'd reported... yep, diabolical. Great traction if the bike could be pointed straight ahead, but no side grip, no braking and no downhill control.

And yet again the Marlborough chaps have managed to organise a ride on the same day as the Nelson club.
    Cheers,
    Colin
