    Operation Centerline

    Sigh.

    http://www.3news.co.nz/Police-hide-i...5/Default.aspx

No doubt, I would like to see people snapped for wandering over the center lines for no reason. Unfortunately, it means no passing in the gorge for a while Will be frustrating when I'm stuck behind one or two cars and I have a few hundred meters clear visibility (which you do in the middle).

Another example of the pigs trying to impose their stupid morals on ordinary citizens, for little or no reason other than to suck money out of them.

Perhaps they suggest bikers have no idea how to cross the centreline and return safely? It's not dangerous or against the law to "wander over the centreline for no reason", but hey we can paste them for that!

If the cops are "sick of" anything they should fuck off and get a job elsewhere. Fuck knows I'm sick to the fucking teeth of all sorts of shit, but I have to suck my fucking guts in and shut the fuck up, especially so right after they wipe my face with their trumped up bullshit laws they just pulled out of their arse.

Fucking stupid pigs will shortly face the general publics' wrath if they don't quickly begin to take a rational approach to road safety, and actually start helping people, and ditch the "hang everyone for every microscopic thing" approach.

Hahaha "Police sick of bad driving"?

How about they address the stupid ass sunday driving cunts who drive at 20km/h below the speed limit? And all the fuckwits that just go "I didn't see you"?

Oh what the fuck am I saying, that'd actually require them to get off their ass and do some work, not just sit on the side of the road with a camera. As you were.

    Good job!
I am totally sick of people who cannot manage to stay in their own lane!
Can the police please bring that campaign to the rest of NZ?

Little bit of devils advocate here, but from what I saw on Campbell they were filming drivers crossing the double yellow.

Seems like some pretty strong reaction to something a lot of guys were standing up for in relation to a recent death.

oh I do hope no-one crosses those centre lines and wipes you off your bike! For then you'll be screaming and swearing as to why the police did nohting to keep you safe on your road....man you should go to the naughty spot and have your mouth washed out with soap, but i'm guessing you'd like that.

P.S. Once had me a friend who did an overtaking manouvre, didn't quite go to his plan and now he's dead, his one and only ride on his Moto Guzzi!

Why do we "have to stay in our own lane" ? Whats the point? Do you not have the skills to safely change lanes? Perhaps you need the law to decide for you? No? I did not think so.

Nice try, but that was not the topic. Re-read!

The topic was, "wandering over the center lines for no reason", not "crossing the centreline into oncoming traffic."

I have read so many people grizzle and moan for years about the police "never" doing anything about bad driving and yet now they do have a more public operation to target exactly that, the same people whinge about that as well!

All manner of "bad" driving has been targeted for years - it is just less topical than the speeding fines issue and therefore was never a money spinner for the media to bother with.

Isn't it about time we started requesting more transparency and focus on volume crime? Burglary, theft, robbery, assault, intimidation, theft from cars, theft of car etc etc..... they seem to get so little resource.

You just don't get it do you? Now, they're filming without consent. Next, they'll be installing average speed cameras. And there will be numerous protests, just like the acc spiel, which will ultimately fail to accomplish anything substantial.
