Driving 1-0-1 Keep left. How hard is it?

obviously for some...it's just too damn hard! Hence the police wish to have a look at this distrubing trend and do something about it.

I applaud this simple piece of wisdom. However, I think the issue goes far deeper. On the one hand we have the need to be able to travel the roads without fear of our way being blocked by on-coming traffic. On the other we have the rampant and abusive increase in personal surveillance.

My own emotional reaction to this is conflicted. Yes, I applaud the efforts of the police to keep people on their side of the road. I also hate being watched and fear that yellow lines are being thrown in to places where they do not belong simply in order to slow down the traffic flow (maybe this does come down to the speed kills mantra afterall?). I also fear that crossing the centre-line will be treated in a black-and-white fashion, resulting in any intrusion to the other side of the road being attacked (yellow line or not).

I see every second rider/driver on the road seems prepared to cross the centre line around blind corners. This is dangerous and is without purpose. I've been able to get round corners just as fast as anybody cutting it, plus I don't need to panic then get all out of shape as soon as something on coming appears.

Keep left - not difficult, and page one of the road code I believe.

What amused me at the time was the numerous places where the nice new yellow paint was smeared across the road in almost all of the traditional passing spots.
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon
