At the moment, we're tied. We need more rounds to sort out the winner. (I might win tomorrow), but as buckets aren't included, not sure it counts hahaha

Sorry, I'd been drinking. Your order is correct.

But it sounds to me that you need to head down with Pumba and represent the upper north island

Then again, with what they're showing us on the news, I'm too soft to head down there. Roys Hill will be the first away trip for us, and they better not deliver snow.

Nah seriously it ain't likely. It is a cool meet & has always been sunny when I've gone but for that one time.

So I have been thinking about how I would do this cause I am pretty keen (and as per my previous post has some leave to use) and so far have got to this:
    • Leave Auckland Thursday 5 August and head for Wellington. Scab a bed for their.
    • 10.45am Ferry crossing Friday 6 August getting into Picton 1.35pm and driving onto Christchurch (Google maps says it is about 4 and a half hours Picton to Chch, last time I was down this way was on the bike and we didn’t go directly to Chch). Accommodation to be sorted.
    • BOB Saturday 7 August.
    • Now I need to ask, BEAR’s racing on Sunday 8 August, is it worth hanging around for it? Feed back I seem to be reading of the other site is that it may not be. Can some tell me how much racing we might get and what the costs may be?
    • Thoughts at the moment are that I won’t and Sunday 9 August I will aim for the 2.25pm sailing from Picton, scabbing another bed for the evening and in Wellington.
    • Monday 10 August, Wellington to Auckland.

Any suggestions or comments welcomed, as well as anybody else that may be keen to share costs. At the very lest I will have the ute, so space for one more bike and person.

For the record Qkkid was in my bed, not the other way round

Bears should get 3 races plus practice. People are only grumbling because Cams can run a 1/2 day meet and get 5 races plus practice. If you are driving all this way you might as well enter the next day as well $40 entry
My neighbours diary says I have boundary issues

    Hi Pumba

I'm also thinking about the Battle of the Buckets. Remember, I rode my bucket (FXR150) from Christchurch to Auckland, via the Napier-Taupo road in heavy sleet just before the big snow-in . I want to try Ruapuna.

Going back down again with my bucket to race in Christchurch would be fun.

    Seriously interested,

    Damien
