Don't you have anything better to do then come on KB and pretend you're the man.

North shore cops = a cop on the north shore. You don't have to be a rocket scientists.

as you seem so hell bent on talking about lane splitting, how do you know why were they pulled over in the first place.

Get your facts striaght before you start shooting your mouth off as i never said " it serves them right for speeding" just shows what a good little labour nazi you are to write down lies about what has been posted.

And if you want to get really into it, no where other than the title does it say what direction he, the bikes being pulled over, the cops were heading, or what side of the motorway they were on.
so go stick that in your pipe and smoke it

He stated that you are only legally allowed to do so if the traffic in the said lane was stationary.
Therefore if the cars in the lane you are splitting are moving you are braking the law.

He did also say that they do also understand bikers do lane split and as long as the traffic is slow and you are not going a lot faster then them they turn a blind eye. But just remember the law states the cars have to be stationary.

When I travel between cars, The best way to keep in the law is to have your indicator on and keep swapping lanes between cars therefore you are just overtaking.

    Lets be safe out there......
Correct... stationary or "stalled". It is a common sense thing. If you ride carefully and slowly during the lane split as you pass the basically stalled traffic you will generally be fine, not fined.

He was wrong. If you pass on the right of the vehicle in same lane and stay wholely within that lane, it is overtaking and is entirely lawful.
If it wasn't for a concise set of rules, we might have to resort to common sense!

Also refer to the thread where I wrote to the District commander to get the information straight. Here are the two main posts to read:

And have 100m of clear forward visibility after having completed the manoeuvre, isn't it?

Those two bike cops got me about 3 years ago for lanesplitting, just before getting on the bridge.
They followed me from western springs too.
They let me off though. was on a 400 on a restricted then too.

until the passing movement is completed, the driver has a clear view of the road and any traffic on the road for at least 100 m in the direction in which the driver is travelling.
You have to have 100m of visibility now, not for a point in time in the future you have not yet reached.

It doesn't matter what the law says about lane splitting. If a cop wants to give you a ticket, he'll give you a ticket. Arguing won't get you anywhere. Just bend over and take it like a man, not a whinging blouse.

I live on the shore and lane split all the time when going to the city. I am not slow and spend as much time on the right of the line as the left. I have split past cop cars (both sides of the line on several occasions and cop bikes at least three times (usually watch my speed more when passing them though). Always on both sides of the line doing a good 20kph more than the adjacent cars but never been bothered by them.

Given that when splitting I pass every other bike I can see ahead of me (just switch across to the other side of middle lane if they aren't awake or polite enough to pull over), have never been passed by another splitter and have what would generally be termed as a shit attitude to caution and common sense.(see license speeding history) I can only conclude that the guys getting ticketed (as seen on the side of the motorway) must be doing something reeeeeally wrong or are giving a bad impression by looking like they are a danger cause they are nervous and twitchy (seen that a lot)

No thats bullshit...dont bend over! If you do that you are not taking it like a man but like a softcock bitch from a faggot cop!

Fight their bullshit any chance you get! In court, on the street, wherever they try to do you wrong...

Its this sheepish attitude of complacent dickheads that makes pigs think they are infallible...
