    Nice collection of bike mags

When i walked into whitcoulls. Used to just seeing KR, BRM, Moto Trader and the classic one. This time i was treated two an Aussie mag ( i think) and a couple of british ones. Walked out with Fast Bikes ($17 later ) because it was the only one i couldnt read (damn plastic wrap ).

The quality of these british mags appears to be worth the extra few dollars over the kiwi ones.

In saying that there was a very good suspension set up guide done by Robert Taylor in one of the local mags.

yeah i can get the odd fastbikes mag (british, expensive, all glossy, got a free neck wrap in my issue), and theres another good mag called rapidbikes, its oztralian but very good. in rapidbikes they build a fantasy bike each month and last month they built a yamaha R8 to rival the GSX-R750. sexiest bike ive ever seen, next to the norton 961.

I get Bike and RiDE both from UK and very good reviews and articles. I get Performance Bikes, MCN, Two Wheels and Motor Cyclist from the library, they get these before they hit the shelves.

I remewed my subscription to Performance Bikes recently and the cost was a pretty reasonable $10/issue. Plus you get that months one that month, not reading one with a cover date of June in in August. Worth looking into if you find yourself buying the same one every month.

Yep. That R8, I thought here is my next bike. Bastards. Open the mag to find it is a fantasy bike.

That's quite cheap, do you get it sent from UK?

Way back in the late 80s I read my first biker mag it was Performance Bike, bought from whitcoulls. I then tried a local one, can't remember what, but back then it was all newsprint , so even though it was cheaper it was still better to buy the brit mag which was full glossy and had about twice as many pages and articles. I then started to read Two Wheels and Revs, both Aussie mags and now have a collection of about 12 years worth of Two wheels. Stopped buying them religiously about 6 yrs ago , but was quite impressed when I bought kiwirider this weekend for only $10 as TW cost about $8 or so when I stopped buying it. I have found that the best place to get bike mags from is a newsagent rather than the big stores. I used to get my from a wee newsagent near my wifes work. They would ring her once a month when the mag arrived and put aside a copy which she would go down and pick up in her lunch hour.
