Yeah, I missed all the enduro's this season ( all work & no play ), the 350sxf is kinda shaping up to be a real weapon for 2011 I have to say, though there are interesting rumblings out of Husky & I do like the txc, still can't get everything out of the 250 mind you, but kinda want to beat my mate & he's making load 350sxf noises, be ok if it was going to be a handful, but if it'll work in the bush & be a mx weapon, pretty nice combo for NZ conditions.

Be curious if the 350sxf was a headshaker like the 250EXC-F's.

I had a short blat on the 350 today, and it was pretty good, probably because its not like any KTM iv ever ridden, but I did notice it didn't like going slow, required a bit (read:more than some) of clutch work, which is pretty heavy, even by ktm standards. And I thought the throttle was too light, got arm pump trying to hold the damn throttle still. Suspension worked well, seeing as its a mx bike and I weigh sfa, soaked up trail rubbish well(for a mx bike)
we may just go where no ones been

As a 2smoke supporter and I'm just saying if industry put as much energy developing them as they have into 4strokes we'd see a bit more advance!
But that said, I like the direction they took with the smaller engine and therefore lighter chassis and power to weight ratio with the 350! Smart guys them. I have repeatedly said on thread after thread the 4 delivers power better than the 2smoker and therefore gives faster lap times. My bike at the moment suits my riding experience, my mechanical knowledge, therefore my budget, so all good there. I'll stick with the smoker till I see what comes out of the mix in 2012 when they are supposed be bringing new stuff to the 2stroke range. If its nothing great I might have to post an "I'm sorry" thread LOL!!
If there is major development happening they probably have already planned the strategic marketing for the 350 to be the sensation this year and whatever comes out in 2012 to the sensation for then!

But I'm interested to know how light it felt compared to the 300?
Could you fell the difference because they went to the linkage?
I imagine power would be much more linear compared to the 300, was it?
As an MX bike was it snappy or did it have puttputt type torque like an exc?
And is it $14K or more??

I bet they'll sell like hot cakes and I hope they have made them reliable and long lasting, New model out no one knows yet?

And put the deposit on so I can have a ride please!! I bet its a bloody nice bike!!!
    Very jealous I am!

it did feel lighter than the 300, but i think they are the same weight (104kg dry) maybe its just to do with the centre of gravity?
it was snappy but it was also incredibly smooth, much more linear than my 300, noticeably so in the higher rev ranges, i didn't really notice the linkage until i went to hop over a log and it got snagged lol, i think i need to test it on an mx track with acceleration and braking bumps and some wooooooooops too. at this stage i dont think there is a set price, the guy im buying it from is pretty sure they will be $13,995,

Foo - 350's out already? That was quick, but enduro version maybe not far off. Why not wait a bit?

Question: Pretty sure Cairoli's bike has leccy-leg, does production model have it?

Been a few bits about Tye Simmons 350 in ADB mag recently - but KTM wouldn't let anyone else ride it. Claimed about 12Kgs lighter than a 450 - wot, how can this be?

TBH I think part of reason I went 2-stroke was weak attempt to reconnect with my youth. Back in the day, it was real simple - if you wanted a serious dirt bike you bought a 2 stroke. Things have changed, but very glad we still have a (limited) choice. Bloody shame the Japanese gave up on 2T.

according to the US sites it is only just lighter than the YZF and KXF450, and heavier than the CRF450,

be interesting what the life of the motor is like, by the looks of the compression ratio you will have to rebuild it like a 250F,

A lot a people whoo ride 250 fours find they sit on the limiter a lot which in turn = more rebuilds and valves etc hence i like my 450 as it always has heaps to spare

And thats the fun of them.... and the reason they are so fast. I loved my 450 for the same reasons you do but its much easier to go faster for longer on the 250. If that means I rebuild at 50 hours instead of 75, so be it!

Very very interested to see what the 350's like. I've always said it would be the perfect size.

the guy at the bike shop reckons 80-100 hours between rebuilds

hmm lawnmower $6-700 bike $14,000 you choose which would you rather run at red line all the time

you raise a good point - maybe lawnmower engines are more reliable? and who pays for a lawnmower, mine was free from my grandma so you know its never been serviced!
