Watching the game with my Aotearoa/NZ Tshirt in the midst of the Italian comunity in Frankfurt was very exciting and tense at the same time.

I felt damn proud. Go the all whites!!

I feel a little bit ashamed in that, I never really gave the All Whites a chance in pool play.
They have proved that they have right to be there (at the world cup) and may they advance further.

23 SHOTS ON GOAL,give the city to Paston,man he played the game of his life,and if we qualify to next round payout is $9mill US,big difference to our coffers,hope the fish heads use it wisely.

Penalty was dodgy,but rules are no holding a player back,seems that is bit like foward pass in rugby,you gets the rub of the green or not.

People say the games lack goals,but nil all can be exciting as 5-0 at times.

The height of our guys certainly helped,but Italy seem to be like the ABs in 1991,too many stayed on after use by date.

So if Paraquay 'throw' their game then both Paraquay and All Whites would both go through and Italy would be out....interesting comment just on the News. Awesome game and well worth losing my much needed beauty sleep for , even the cat was watching!

Given that soccer in NZ now has more youngsters signed up than rugby, one would hope the government will put more funds soccers way, given that their argument is that we fail to play to an international standard

Unfortunately we will recieve about $5mill US for starting tournament,another $4mill if we qualify to second round so can't see any govt funding,and really don't need it as much as other sports.Mind you compare that to what the govt has chucked for rugby world cup with stadiums,roading and various infrastructure.

And with the all whites doing so bloody great and being the team of moment the profile of NZ is immense for tourism and people asking where the hell is NZ.

That's exactly it my friend, there is no bigger stage for sporting achievement and, like it or not, even if the ABs win every world cup until the end of days, they could never eclipse the positive exposure for NZ that the All Whites have already achieved.

The world is watching NZ right now, if we make it to the next round you will not believe the media storm that will come knocking at our doorstep and the people that will want a little piece of the little country that lived a dream, this is the stuff of sporting legend, brought to you by a bunch of ordinary blokes doing an extraordinary thing...GO THE FECKING ALL WHITES!!
