No he is just trying to hijack the thread and turn it into a "look at me I've got a big nob" because I have a sports bike and all Harley riders are wankers. Don't worry, he is a Honda rider. He will grow out of it.

What is riding sports bike or even honda got to do with it?
Its like me saying you are racist redneck just because you are from south island...without knowing anything about you. Thats just realy pathetic thing to do just because someone doesnt agree with your opinion.

Also never said Harley riders are wankers, now you are just making up shit to make me look bad....all i said is that HDs are inferior to italian sports bikes in regards of cornering etc....

I support the effort and think that anything done to educate and make all riders and drivers aware is a great thing.

However interestingly enough I heard words from the Ivory Tower end of last week that said Superintendent is ranting off on a tangent again.. (referring to his 'mid life crisis' comments).

I have no issue with the cops pulling up bikers for a check, just as I have no problem with them waving me through when they have their boy racer checkpoints set up. As long as they do what they say they are doing it's all good, much like the breath testing at the March Hare rally where they only breath tested and didn't check licences or rego or wof's, they could have made a lot more money if they did.

I guess I'm probably conditioned from driving around town when I was a lad (before being a boy racer was fashionable) in a piece of shit looking car, getting pulled up and checked was just part of a night out. Once they had seen licence, reg, wof they sent you on your way with a smile, can't see a problem really.
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987

I guess that's right, you have become conditioned.

We once had the right to go about our business without being stopped by the law, unless they had observed us doing something that was illegal.

Then we became used to being stopped in the car just, in case we had done something wrong. And as many of the comments on here indicate, lots of folk think that's just fine.

Then we allowed law enforcement to search vehicles at random, just in case they had evidence of wrong doing in them.

Then we allowed police (under very specific circumstances of course, we are a free country) to search individuals without a warrant just in case they had evidence of wrong doing on them.

Then we introduced the "Search and Surveillance Bill" which, inspite of the Minister protestations expanded those powers. Currently the bill languishes in select committee.

A few have commented that I am paranoid, think there is a commie behind every tree. Maybe, or maybe I am just old enough to remember how it was, to have learned from history, and to be watching carefully as we quietly allow even greater government law enforcement intrusion into our normal, legal and private daily lives.
David must play fair with the other kids, even the idiots.

Unfortunately this is a global trend, still shame its happening even in NZ probably one of last few truly free countries.. all in a name of "greater good" but for who...

All i can say to govt and their enforcement pawns is leave me the fuck alone..i doubt they will listen though.

The ones making the loudest protestations are usually the ones looked at with closer scrutiny.

When was this because police always had the power to stop any vehicle, anywhere, anytime.

Then we allowed law enforcement to search vehicles at random, just in case they had evidence of wrong doing in them.

When did this happen, because the law states police must have reasonable grounds to believe.

Once again, must have grounds to believe.

I put it to you, you aren't old enough to remember how it is but you are old enough to make it up.
