    hi there young1.

from past events there is only one slip crossing that will be the tricky part..
    early day one.

rest of ride will be fat ass friendly, if you like ill ride it full fat ass, when we go in to check out all the tracks, just to make sure.

but seriously, you will be ok, if i can get my fat fidy round you can too..

but there is no need to carry your panniers around the coast as they could be left in the scout den.

will post up photos of problem areas when we get to going out for our recky rides.

. Ok, count us in. Me on a DR650 and wife on a DR200. PM me the details.

Confused by the thread, are we signing up or expressing our interest?

    Cheers

Thanks Buddy, Leanne has just mentioned that we may be in Napier Labour weekend Sunday... I am interested though, the bike is sulking in the garage from lack of use (although I did buy some fancy foot peg extensions for her!) so got to get out on it!

East Wairarapa Coast Explorer: 2 days of madness..
    ....Ladies and gentlemen.....
We are fund raising for Westpac rescue helicopter service.

Its all go we are putting a plan together now
going to be a great mix of different terrains.

will be two days of as much coast riding and as close to the sea as I can get us.
on beach tracks, gravel seal and grass.....
yes you will more than likely get stuck, and we may even have to build our own crossings to get through.. but thats the adventure of it.

I have secured the use of a scout den, ( Hall ) has a log fire and a out side fire pit we are allowed to use on Saturday night.

i have the den booked for Friday night for riders wanting to come in and stay, a meal will be provided on Friday night,

Saturday morn breakfast will also be provided.
also be optional basic lunch if you wish to take with you.

    Saturday night.
a choice of two dinners will be provided, also pudding.... YUM..
We have mattress available, also the use of tents if you like to sleep out side..

    Sunday morn.
    breakfast will be provided
also a basic lunch if you wish to take with you.

the ride is on the long weekend of 23rd-24th 25th October, Labour weekend
as i have to work around the farmers with lambing season..

so sign up if this is up your alley.
open to all New Zealand riders..will need a duel purpose bike, with reasonable tread tires.
Final details are to be worked out.

    PM me if any questions..

at this stage entry fee for farm station access is around $25 per rider
and meals and accommodation $25 per rider

more details as time goes by..

a little update, we been denied access to one side of a coast station,, but never fear,, there still plenty for all to enjoy,
we had the go ahead from one side of the boundary gate, but chap on the other side,,,,well he just doesn't like motorbike riders and noisy motorcycles, as he put it..

I am keen - still at the "penciling in" stage, but will book on the calender as soon as I am sure.
The "big" (16 litres) Aceribis tank I ordered for the DR350 sometime last year finally arrived this week. Offered it up for a trial fit and it seems like it was made for the bike. It was, but I was still expecting the fit to be problematical! Took a while but still pretty good to be able to get one for an obsolescent bike like a DR350.

Good work with all the organising. Thanks.
