$4 / hour wellington cbd is standard, more in some Wilsons parks.
The attached pic is Sydney central, so we're relatively cheap compared to there.

I'm bussing in to town most days for the next while. Even from the top of the North Shore it's cheaper than parking, takes less time, and is pleasanter than the hassle of enduring a crawl down the motorway. I hate motorway congestion. The bus service is reliable, the buses are plentiful and clean, and it's almost a door-to-door service. 2 mins walk, 5 mins wait. Met some friends in Penrose for a drink the other night and no problem either, just hopped on a train.
Of course it I wanted to go to Glenfield it might be tougher, but the main trunks work well.
May I just say... FAAARRRRKKKK! Another reason to NOT move to Sydney.
Redefining slow since 2006...
northern busway certainly has it's advantages. Transport options out east are a joke tho. Bus in traffic, or ferry, which stops at the bottom of town. Bike for me, I'm all over the city, so no other option
Man i like napier, $1 a hour. thats if you can"t find a free park outside were you want to go.![]()

Paying for parking
Bwaaaaahahahahah
TOP QUOTE: “The problem with socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other people’s money.”
There are quite a few $8-$12 per day parking lots around the place, not bad for a whole day I wouldn't have thought. Short-term parking, well it's simple supply/demand, if it was cheaper you might not ever get a park!
We have to travel in and out of the CBD frequently for work (as in several times a day).
If you can, it's often cheaper to park on the street and make the minimum payment possible. As long as you have made some payment, the parking ticket (if you even get one) reduces to just $12.
The ocassional $12 ticket is much cheaper than parking in the parking buildings regulalry.
