Conveniently located on Aotea Quay, DX Mail is seeking to employ permanent part time staff to assist with the delivery and processing of mail and light parcels.

We have the following roles we wish to fulfill:

Van driver/runner/mail sorter
From 3pm to approximately 8pm (subject to volumes).

Postie
Either via motorcycle, pushbike or foot delivery. Approximately 7am start (subject to location).

Both roles require the following:

Full driver’s license - driving positions (manual for the van driver role)
High standard of physical fitness
Well organised
Mature outlook
Reliable team player

The roles are from Monday through Friday inclusive. Due to the nature of our business we are unable to provide exact finish times so please be mindful of this requirement.

Get shitloads of KBers together, get them to mortgage themselves til they bleed, and in returne they take ownership (shares) in a state of the art Grand Prix Venue/Training Centre... and if it all goes tits up, just leave the country, at least you tried, it's the rest of our faults

I've been working as a kitchenhand in the same job for more than 5 years. I am so over working in a kitchen. I'm miserable and its time for a change!!!!!!!!!

I want to ride my bike!!!!. Its the only thing that makes me happy!!! I want to ride my bike for a job. I realise that courier rider jobs are few and far between these days, and becoming less and less of an option, as mail becomes electronic and many more parcels can be delivered by cars and vans.

there must be SOMETHING!! that I can do for a job that allows me to ride my bike all day.

Come on folks!! I want to pick your brains !! got any ideas? please share them and lets put our heads together. Perhaps you are in the same situation as me, maybe we can get together and make this happen.

Give Yamaha a call, i hear they are looking for a new rider.

Forget the bike for now. If you get your job sorted you’ll be able to ride whatever you want whenever you want. I did three years as a KP after leaving school, travelled the world washing pots and it was great fun. But look a few years ahead. Best to make a choice now, either get a qualification, and be poor for a few years, or get a trade. When I look back I am glad I spent all that time in kitchens, but if I hadn’t made the big decision I would probably be in a dead end job somewhere and not be able to swap bikes every 12 months and have overseas holidays every year etc etc.

I never thought I would get accepted by the Poly when I applied, I only did it to shut my old man up, but in the end I got in, passed, did some shit jobs for a few years and then everything turned for the better.

Unless you want to be a chef I ‘d say get out of the kitchen. And as everyone else said, if you ride for a living you’ll get sick of it very quickly.

like someone else said...........keep you job and your hobby seperate. unless you get luck enough to get to the top of your game, where you have people doing all the shitey stuff for you, it will become a chore.

Oh now come on! I rode every day for 400k's a day for about 3 and half weeks non stop and if it wasn't for work i woulda kept goin too. Don't tell me ya wouldn't want to do that?

You should have come to Auntie KB for advice when you chose the course, you would have been told that straight away.

Seriously though, no matter what people say there are a shed load of jobs out there to help you get out of the kitchen if you really want to. They may not seem like they have prospects, but I'd imagine they have more possibilities than your current job.

But alas, bikes. and us, don't run on fresh air. And really without the drugdery of daily life riding the bike would not give us the thrill is does.

It's the anticipation, the planning, the gazing at wonder at one's bike. The thrill of having a spare hour and being able to throw your leg over and just go. Those spontanious moments when you just bolt out the door and do it.

For those that commute every day to and from work, that in itself would be monotonous after sometime and that would be when they belt it out on weekend blat. Those mad moments of pure pleasure.

I miss riding.

Never a truer word has been spoken and you put it so nicely. I haven't been out for a few weeks now with work interfering at every corner.
I will go this weekend for sure. It destroys ones soul when you can't get out to ride. I hate having it stuck in the shed.

thought is all it ever has been or ever will be unfortunately... but I reckon it's a goer for NZ should you be able to land any/all of the GP's on a yearly basis, tis just a trip across the pond (that Art and Design degree might come in handy )... Instead of corporate boxes and corporate hospitality (waste of space), build offices into the perimeter for renting and constant drip feed of cash (businesses can charge for their premises to be used for coporate reasons if they like)... motorsport bar, drift track, skid pan, superbike school, trackdays, state of the art training facilities, monorail to the nearest city (Wellington obviously lol)... the list is endless... ahhhhh to dream... andyone have $100 mill hangin around I could borrow
