Change of life! Bought a 1150GS

I have just sold the 07 SV and bought a 2003 1150GS. I love it, so different, it certainly doesn'
t have the power of the SV but what it lacks in power it makes up in comfort and character.
And it handles far better than it looks say it would.
Looking forward to getting into some effortless 500km rides.
This thing ticks along at 110km/hr at about 3000rpm its a torque monster.
I am finally looking at the beautiful country side that we have, instead of looking at keeping the speedo under limit and braking hard for the next corner.
Time for this dude to cruise...

    Well done that man!

Your last sentence sums up why I went from a Ducati to an ADV bike. Welcome to riding for the joy of riding, not riding for the buzz of speed.

    Congratulations on the new ride.

Before heading out into the wilderness, be sure to learn how to pick the damn thing up....because dropping a GS is a WHEN and not IF sort of thing.

    Good Choice!

I would have one if someone would make a deposit in my bank account......

There seems to be a thing about the weight of a GS

Ive noticed that this often mentioned , learn to pick a GS up.!!! There are many bikes that people ride that are near and much heavier than the weight of a GS. Ie a Bandit1200 nett weighs 225kg from memory, a 1150GS nett weighs about 228 kg. A Bandit falls over you just pick it up, same with a GS. I would say that GS is easier to pick up than a eg. Bandit as the weight is lower.

    Just get tough!

perhaps this is often said cos you may have a GS take a nap more often than a pure road bike?
