Honda vs driveway .. no deal

so I was at a mates place yesterday, bike parked in the driveway, when i heard a huge crash. walked outside to see two guys holding my bike.. turned out they reversed a van into my front end. The stand had snapped, so the LH side met the ground.

Pretty much everything on the left side is scratched, clutch lever, bar end, mirror, both pegs, gear lever, engine cover, swing arm, tank cover, rear cowl, side fairing, both indicators. and the front fairing & guard are both broken, although the front fairing looks repairable.

Got plenty of photos and the guys details, gonna get it looked at tomorrow hopefully to find out how much its gonna cost. im guessing the swing arm and engine cover might put the price through the roof.. good thing this guy has insurance (so he reckons)

i guess im not the first or last to have this happen..

Sorry to say it but you may have a write off. Swingarms and tanks generally cost a couple of grand a piece to replace with brand new parts, regardless of whether the damage is substantial or simply cosmetic.

If that happens the insurance company own it, and they don't have to (although some will) give you first option to purchase it back

That sucks - I hope that guy is insured some dick went into the back of my bike - $3000 to replace the guard and indicators. Very expensive apparently to buy replacement stuff like that

tank just needs a touch up, but it might be new swingarm time. i wouldnt mind too much if its a write off as long as i dont have to downgrade to a scooter or something lol
