Yep. Been busted twice for doing them. They come under the heading of 'careless use of a motor vehicle' I'm afraid.

For every member of the public who sees a wheelie and says "Fuck yeah, look how cool he looks" there's probably 100 who would say "Fuck yeah, they get all they deserve".

Who gives a fuck? think what they like, what else can they do that isnt already done or planned, go for it ride safe well and on occasion have some fun, for oneday it will be illegal...........to have fun that is

That's not good advice. Slamming the rear break would cause an uncontrollable bounce plus faaark the forks. They'll only let you get away with that a few times before collapsing. Smooth control is what is required. I'd question the 999/999.1. I'd say it's more like 5/1, just take a look on YouTube as to what often goes wrong.

I too think wheelie's are way cool

...started when I was about 8 and this young lad named Andrew pulled a wheelie on his little red pushbike...I fell in love, right there and then..with the wheelie.

I would so love to be able to do one...one day. When I 'm a big girl I'll give it a go...until then I shall admire those that can.

There is room on the road for nana's, they are the ones takin out while they are too busy paying attention to the obvious rather than learning the limits of there handling and machines.

What benifit do wheelies have?

1. So you can closely inspect your front tire while you ride.
2. To test your aerodynamics....
3. To improve your riding and handling skills.
4. to make people smile.
5. make me smile.
6. reduce wear on the tire, extending its life lol....
7. To be cool
8. to do something that ___________(edited for privacy) can't.....
9. Because I can
10. to test and learn better balance and control.

But the real No.ONE is really: To Impress The Ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go to it, there are loads of places one can go if one uses initiative and does some inquiring. Find a large building and go for gold.

Is there another website forum where the hardcore guys hang out, this place has sure changed over the years. I remember a time where people would cheer you on to give some tricks a go.
Also members had some balls, seems like the nana patrol have moved in, either that or the harder lads gone quiet.....

I love it when I am ridng along like a Nana and some guy on a sports bike pulls a wheelie to show off - it always puts a huge smile on my face.

I have done 2 wheelies in my life - both out of control and way scary!

One on a dirt bike at a Greg Powers training day - I demonstrated the correct way to fall off an out of control bike apparently.
The other time through a roundabout on a GN250, I was dithering and had a "will I, won't I" moment and gave it heaps and popped a wheelie.

Both times I looked like a dick and it is something I wouldn't attempt ever again, but I am sure it gave the spectators a good laugh.
